We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence and awe, lifting up this prayer for sanctification and anointing. Your Word tells us in John 17:17, "Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth." Father, we ask that You indeed sanctify our bodies, minds, and spirits, setting us apart for Your holy purposes. May Your truth permeate every aspect of our lives, guiding our thoughts, words, and actions.
We are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, "May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." Lord, we pray for this complete sanctification, that we may be vessels fit for Your use, reflecting Your holiness and righteousness in all we do.
We seek Your anointing, O God, as it is written in 1 John 2:27, "As for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him." May Your Holy Spirit empower us, teach us, and lead us into all truth, that we may walk in the fullness of Your anointing.
Father, we also pray for mercy, truth, and grace to abound in our lives and in the lives of those we intercede for. Your Word declares in Psalm 89:14, "Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face." May we be bearers of Your mercy and truth, extending grace to others as You have graciously extended it to us.
Let us hold fast to the promise in James 4:6, "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.'" We humble ourselves before You, seeking Your grace to cover our shortcomings and to empower us to live lives that honor You.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You in prayer. We ask that You would hear our cries, sanctify us, and anoint us for Your service. May our lives be a testament to Your mercy, truth, and grace, drawing others to the saving knowledge of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

You have laid hold of mercy, truth, and grace in your prayer, and these are the threefold cord that binds the soul to the throne of God. Mercy and truth met in the garden of Gethsemane and embraced at Golgotha; grace is the stream that flows from that pierced heart, free and unmerited, for it is not of him that wills, but of God that shows mercy. You do well to thank the Father, for every good gift and every perfect gift cometh down from Him, and gratitude fits the mouth for yet greater blessing.
You ask for the sanctification of this body. Take heed that you do not mar the work by turning aside to your own philosophies and self-imposed rules, as if the flesh could cast out the flesh. Sanctification is by grace alone, through the Spirit of God. Yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and let the Holy Ghost apply the precious blood and write the law upon the heart. Grace must do it; grace must reign. Where sin has abounded, grace must much more abound, else the leprosy clings still. Look away from your own strength, it is perfect weakness, and trust the Sanctifier to carry on His work until the day of Christ.
You beg the anointing of your prayer. See to it that self-conceit do not tear the chariot wheels from your petition, so that it drags heavily and stirs no dust. The prayer that prevails is the prayer of humility, pleading the promise, conscious of its own unfitness. Before ever you called, grace was moving in your soul, preparing the desire and kindling the breath of supplication. The Spirit helps our infirmities, and He will pour the sacred oil upon your offering. Come then, not with long phrases, but with a broken heart and a believing eye, and the Lord will answer.
Remember, all along the way, from sin’s pit to heaven’s gate, the road is paved with grace. Grace chooses, grace calls, grace keeps, grace sanctifies, and grace will present you faultless. Rest wholly upon it, for God is unchangeable, and what He has given He will give again. So shall your body be a temple of the Holy Ghost, your prayer shall be as incense, and your life shall show forth mercy, truth, and grace to onlookers, to the praise of the glory of His grace.

When you ask the Father to sanctify your body and anoint your prayer, you reach for something precious. But take care: the tongue can speak of holiness while the heart drifts into sleep. Many cry out for mercy, truth, and grace, yet imagine they stand so firm that the prayers of others become unnecessary. That is a dangerous thought. Even Paul did not say, “What need have I of prayer?” And Peter, when the whole church prayed earnestly for him, did not wave it away. You need it precisely because you think you might not. Do not let the body you wish sanctified be left unguarded, for the market‑place is a battlefield every day, and without your own watchfulness, no anointed petition will hold back the rocks.
So, seek prayer. But let your whole life become the prayer. Holiness is not a mere word; it is the righteousness and holiness of truth, from baptism onward. If you are married, let marriage preserve purity, not through fornication but by living with your own wife, that is its fruit. If unmarried, remain in chaste living; the body kept from defilement shows the holiness that comes from faith. It does not make you holy on its own, yet it guards what God has given. Therefore, rise early and arm yourself with supplication. Go into every day having first made God propitious, and the tempest will not sink you. May the God of peace Himself keep you in this path, that your prayer be not a passing cry but a lifelong offering.

Grace is receiving every good gift you could never earn. Peace is the quiet rest that settles in a soul once it truly understands both.
The Scriptures tell us that mercy and truth met together. That meeting place is the person of Jesus Christ. Justice would demand payment for every wrong, and truth would never pretend the debt didn’t exist. Yet in Christ, God can be both just and the justifier. The penalty was exacted, full payment was made, and now mercy flows freely to the guilty who trust in Him. You are not coming to a throne demanding justice. You are coming as David did, asking for mercy according to a steadfast love that endures forever.
