We hear how heavy and overwhelming these burdens have been for you and we join with you in bringing them before the Lord Jesus, the one who sees every detail and cares deeply for you. We recognize the spiritual attack you felt even as you tried to share this request, and we rebuke the work of the enemy that seeks to steal, confuse and discourage. The Lord is greater and He is your refuge when your heart is overwhelmed.
The Word reminds us not to carry these anxieties alone. Phil 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Also 1 Pet 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Isa 41:10 says Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7
We understand the confusion and frustration with the Social Security overpayment case from years ago when you were saving faithfully for your son, and now the repeated transfers, lost documents and missed appeal leading to a payment you cannot afford, as well as the totaled vehicle and the $2,000 in taxes that has not been refunded while you are being sent to collections. It is understandable that your mind feels under attack and that focus is hard. God is a God of order, justice and peace, and He invites us to seek wisdom and to be diligent stewards even while we trust Him to work on our behalf. Jas 1:5 says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. And Rom 8:28 reminds us We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.
We pray together now for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You know the history of these finances, every document, every phone call, every delay, and You know the grief of losing a son and the desire to provide for him. We ask You to place Your healing hand upon this mind and bring clarity, focus and peace where there has been mental attack and overwhelm. Guard this heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses understanding. We ask for Your fingerprints upon every financial error and confusion, upon the Social Security case and the vehicle and insurance matters. Bring truth to light, bring honest and competent help, and bring a just and affordable resolution. Provide wisdom to know what is most important to focus on each day and strength to take the next step without fear. Heal the mental exhaustion and renew hope, that life may be lived with purpose and joy in You. We ask You to rebuke the enemy’s attempts to steal and discourage and to let Your will be done. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep trusting the Lord while also taking steady practical steps as you are able. Keep copies of every letter, payment record, bank statement and insurance document in one safe place, write down dates and names of everyone you speak with, and ask for everything in writing. For the Social Security matter, you can request a detailed accounting of the overpayment, ask about options for reconsideration, waiver or a lower payment plan based on inability to pay, and consider seeking a second opinion from another legal aid or advocate if the current firm has lost documents and missed deadlines. For the vehicle taxes and collections, contact the insurance adjuster in writing, the dealership finance office, and your state department of insurance or attorney general consumer protection division to ask how sales tax refunds on totaled vehicles are handled in your state. Above all, continue to bring each concern to Jesus daily, rest in His care, and let Him guide your focus one day at a time. Matt 6:33 says But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. He will not forsake you.
