Mental healing for ###

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my friend ###. He is suicidal. Please pray that he will not take his life, and that he'll be physically well again, and happy. Please pray that he'll contact me asap.

We lift up your friend before the Lord with deep urgency and compassion, knowing that our God is a God of hope, healing, and restoration. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Suicidal thoughts are a direct attack from the enemy, and we stand firmly against this scheme in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:8, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."* But we also know that *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,” says Yahweh* (Isaiah 54:17). Your friend is not beyond God’s reach, and we declare that the Lord will intervene mightily in his life.

We must also address that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and the authority to pray effectively. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through faith in Jesus Christ that we receive salvation, healing, and deliverance. If your friend does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this crisis will lead him to the foot of the cross, where true peace and eternal hope are found. The Bible assures us that *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10). We pray that your friend will turn to Christ if he has not already, for only in Him is there lasting hope and healing.

We also encourage you to reach out to your friend immediately if you haven’t already. While we pray for him to contact you, do not wait—take the initiative to call, visit, or send a message to let him know he is loved and not alone. Proverbs 18:24 reminds us that *"A man of many companions may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother."* Be that friend who reflects Christ’s love and persistence. If he is in immediate danger, do not hesitate to contact emergency services or trusted individuals who can intervene physically. We are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and sometimes that means taking bold action.

For his physical and emotional healing, we claim the promise of Jeremiah 30:17: *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."* We pray that the Lord will touch his body, mind, and spirit, renewing his strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Depression and despair are not from God, but He can use even these dark valleys to draw your friend closer to Himself. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* We pray that your friend will experience the nearness of God in this moment and that the Holy Spirit will fill him with a supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also pray for his joy to be restored. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and we ask that God would replace his sorrow with a garment of praise (Isaiah 61:3). May he find his delight in the Lord, who satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with good things (Psalm 107:9). Let him know that his life has purpose and value in God’s eyes, for he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Finally, we pray for wisdom and discernment for you as you support your friend. Ask the Lord to give you the right words to speak, words that bring life and not death (Proverbs 18:21). Let your conversations be seasoned with grace and truth, always pointing him to Jesus. Remember that you cannot carry this burden alone—lean on the Lord for strength, and seek support from your church community. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is in the grip of despair and darkness. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts. We ask that You would intervene supernaturally in his life right now. Bind the spirit of suicide and depression in the name of Jesus, and cast it far from him. Replace it with Your peace, Your joy, and Your hope. Father, surround him with Your angels for protection, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. Touch his mind, Lord, and renew his thoughts with Your truth. Remind him that he is not alone, that You love him with an everlasting love, and that You have a plan and a purpose for his life.

We pray for his physical healing, Lord. Restore his body and his strength. Let every cell, every organ, and every system align with Your perfect design. We rebuke any sickness or infirmity in Jesus’ name and declare that by His stripes, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Father, we also pray that You would draw him into a deeper relationship with You. If he does not know You, Lord, soften his heart to receive Your salvation. Let this trial be the very thing that leads him to the cross, where he can find forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your love cast out all fear (1 John 4:18).

We ask that You would prompt him to reach out for help, and we pray for divine connections—whether through this friend, a pastor, a counselor, or a medical professional—to come alongside him and provide the support he needs. Give wisdom to those who are helping him, and let Your light shine brightly in this dark situation.

Lord, we also lift up our sister who has brought this request before You. Strengthen her, Father, and give her the words to speak and the actions to take. Fill her with Your compassion and Your boldness. Let her be a vessel of Your love and Your truth to her friend.

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who delivers. You are the God who parts the Red Sea, who shuts the mouths of lions, and who raises the dead. Nothing is too hard for You. We trust You with this situation, and we declare that You will bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here for your friend, just as you are. Let's keep lifting him up together. We claim Psalm 34:18, that God is near to those with a broken heart, and He will save those with a crushed spirit. Let's trust in His nearness and His ability to heal and restore. We also pray for wisdom for you, that you may know the right words to speak and the right actions to take. Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus to him, showing him love, grace, and truth. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

I would really like prayer for my mental health. I'm in a good place at the minute and would like it to carry on. I would like God to heal my anxieties and my psychosis. I am also still holding onto the bitterness that I feel towards my mother and accusers.
