Memories

I would really like prayer as God is bringing my memories to the surface. He isn't bringing the ones that I really need to bring my perpetrators to justice and wondered why this is. Does God feel that I'm not ready yet?

We understand that the surfacing of painful memories can be overwhelming, and we commend you for seeking God’s wisdom in this season. The Lord often brings things to our minds not to torment us, but to heal us, refine us, and draw us closer to Him. His timing is perfect, even when we don’t fully understand it. The memories He is revealing may be the ones He wants to address first—perhaps because they are tied to deeper wounds, unforgiveness, or areas where He is preparing you for greater freedom.

It’s important to remember that God’s justice is perfect, and He sees all things. While you may long for the memories that would bring earthly justice against those who harmed you, the Lord may be protecting you from carrying a burden that isn’t yours to bear. Vengeance belongs to Him alone, as Scripture declares:

*"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you. Don’t be envious of him who prospers in his way, or of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Stop anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall inherit the land."* (Psalm 37:7-9, WEB)

If the Lord is withholding certain memories, it may be because He is shielding you from bitterness, premature confrontation, or a focus on retribution rather than restoration. His priority is your heart—He wants to heal you *first* so that when (or if) those memories come, you are grounded in His peace and not consumed by anger or pain. Trust that He knows what you can handle and what will ultimately bring glory to His name.

We also encourage you to consider whether unforgiveness or resentment may be lingering in your heart. Jesus was clear that our forgiveness of others is tied to our own freedom:

*"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* (Matthew 6:14-15, WEB)

This doesn’t mean what happened to you was right or that the perpetrators are excused—far from it. But releasing them to God’s justice frees *you* from the chains of bitterness. Ask the Lord to help you surrender this burden to Him, trusting that He will deal with them in His perfect way and time.

Lastly, we notice that your request didn’t invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is *only* through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome. Jesus said:

*"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* (John 14:6, WEB)

If you haven’t already, we urge you to place your full trust in Christ as your Savior. He is the one who heals the brokenhearted, binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3), and promises to never leave you. Without Him, we have no power to forgive, no strength to endure, and no hope for true justice. But in Him, you have *everything* you need.

---
Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is walking through the painful process of remembering. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and give them the strength to endure what You are revealing.

If there are memories You are withholding, we trust that Your wisdom is perfect. Help them to release any demand for vengeance into Your hands, knowing that You alone are the righteous Judge. Soften their heart toward forgiveness, not as a dismissal of the wrong done to them, but as an act of obedience and freedom in You.

Father, if there is any fear, anger, or confusion in their spirit, we rebuke it now in the name of Jesus. Fill them instead with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Remind them that You see every tear they’ve cried, that You collect them in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8), and that You will never forsake them.

We pray for divine healing over their mind, soul, and emotions. Restore what was stolen, Lord, and let them experience the fullness of joy that comes from Your presence. If they have not yet surrendered their life fully to Jesus, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself today. Let them know that true justice, true peace, and true restoration are found in Him alone.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, dear friend. We understand that these surfacing memories can feel overwhelming, but remember, God is with you in this. He's not bringing these memories to hurt you, but to heal you, to draw you closer to Him. He sees every tear you've cried, and He's collecting them all.

We believe that God is shielding you from certain memories right now because He wants to heal your heart first. He wants you to be grounded in His peace, not consumed by anger or pain. Trust that He knows what you can handle and what will ultimately bring glory to His name.

Let's cling to the promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Jesus is the Healer, and He's here for you. He promises never to leave you, never to forsake you.

We encourage you to surrender any unforgiveness to God. It's not about excusing what happened, but about releasing the burden of bitterness. Jesus said, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15)

Let's pray together:

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been lifting you up before the Lord these past days, holding your heart with great care as He brings those memories to the surface. It’s clear how much you long for justice, and we’ve been asking God to meet you in that place of raw honesty—where the pain feels heavy but the hope for His righteousness burns even stronger.

We’ve prayed that the Holy Spirit would reveal His perfect timing to you, that He would give you peace in the waiting, and that He would strengthen you to trust His process even when it feels unclear. We’ve asked Him to guard your heart from discouragement and to remind you that He sees every detail of what was done to you—nothing is hidden from His sight, and nothing is beyond His power to redeem.

If God has already begun to answer this prayer—whether through a shift in your heart, a moment of unexpected clarity, or even a step toward justice—we would love to celebrate that with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness. But if the burden still feels heavy and the answers haven’t come yet, we want to keep standing with you. Don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can continue interceding on your behalf, believing with you for breakthrough.

Above all, we’ve been praying that you would feel the nearness of Jesus in this season—that He would hold you close, remind you of your worth in Him, and lead you into deeper healing. You are not alone in this. May the Lord bless you with His peace, His strength, and His perfect justice as you continue to seek Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
