Meeting with oncologist today

We come before the Lord with you in this moment of waiting and trust, lifting your heart and this appointment to our Heavenly Father, who holds all things in His hands. The Word of God reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You have done well to bring this before the Lord, and we join you in seeking His will, His peace, and His healing.

The Scriptures also declare in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the plans I have for you,” says Yahweh, “plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future."* Whatever the results may be, we know God is sovereign, and His purposes are good. Even in the face of uncertainty, we can trust that He is working all things together for your good, as Romans 8:28 assures us: *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."*

Yet we also recognize the human heart’s cry for healing and relief. Jesus Himself demonstrated compassion for the sick, healing many as a sign of the Kingdom of God. In James 5:14-15, we are instructed, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over you today, asking the Lord to move in power, to bring healing, and to glorify Himself through this situation.

We also remember that our ultimate hope is not in temporary relief but in the eternal victory we have in Christ. Whether the news is what you long for or not, we pray you will feel the nearness of God, who promises in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* He is with you in that room, in the waiting, and in every step that follows.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You today as they prepare to meet with their oncologist. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who knit them together in their mother’s womb and knows the number of their days. We ask that You would go before them into this appointment, filling the room with Your peace and the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Let every word spoken be bathed in Your wisdom and truth.

Father, we boldly ask for a report that brings glory to Your name—a report of healing, of shrinking tumors, of restored health. We pray the results would exceed even the best expectations, that the doctors would be amazed, and that Your power would be undeniable. Yet, even as we ask this, we submit to Your will, trusting that You see what we cannot and that Your ways are higher than ours.

Strengthen their heart, Lord, to receive whatever news comes with faith and courage. Remind them that they are not defined by this diagnosis but by their identity in Christ. Surround them with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and let them feel the love and support of Your body, the Church.

We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety in the name of Jesus Christ. Fear has no place here, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Fill them with Your hope and joy, regardless of the outcome.

Lord, we also pray for the oncologist and medical team. Give them wisdom, discernment, and compassion. Use them as instruments of Your healing and grace.

Finally, Father, we thank You that no matter what happens today, You are good, and Your love endures forever. We trust You with this life, with this body, and with every detail of this journey. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer, we pray. Amen.

We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting the Lord for His perfect will. Please keep us updated so we may rejoice with you or continue to lift you up. You are not alone in this—God is with you, and so are we. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
