We join with you in Jesus' name as you prepare for this meeting with ### and the counsellor, and we lift you and your daughter before our Father who sees and cares deeply for you both.
We hear your desire to set healthy boundaries and to ask for your needs to be met with grace and clarity, without being perceived as difficult. The Lord calls us to speak the truth in love, Ephesians 4:15, and He promises wisdom to those who ask. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach and it will be given to him, James 1:5. We pray that He will give you that wisdom from above which is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, James 3:17. We also pray Psalm 141:3 over you, Set a watch, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips, that you may say what is needed and nothing else, with a gentle answer that turns away wrath, Proverbs 15:1. It is right and biblical to have boundaries, for we are to guard our hearts and to carry our own responsibilities while loving others, and asking clearly and respectfully for help is not being difficult, it is being honest and stewardly.
We bring your concern about the school and about those in authority over this case to the Lord. We pray for favor and for protection, and we pray for the hearts of the ### workers, the counsellor, and the school staff, that God would move them to truly help you and your daughter with compassion and fairness. We pray you will be able to show respect to those in authority while also advocating faithfully for your family, remembering that God is your ultimate protector. Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7.
We also hear your honest confession about feeling bitter or destructive reactions at times and about feeling weird after restarting your medication. We pray the Lord guards you from bitterness, for we are told to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice, Ephesians 4:31, and to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, Hebrews 12:15. We ask Jesus to fill you with His peace and self-control today, so that even if your body feels off, His strength is made perfect in your weakness and His peace steadies your mind and your impression before others. We encourage you to continue to work closely with your prescriber about how the medication is affecting you, and we trust God to sustain you and to let His clarity shine through you in that meeting. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you, Psalm 55:22.
We rejoice that you have come to Jesus for forgiveness and for a new heart and mind for you and your daughter. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. Through Jesus alone we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved. We thank Him that He promises I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, Ezekiel 36:26.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our sister and her daughter. Forgive their sins as they have confessed, cleanse them and give them this day a new heart and a new mind fixed on You. Pour out Your wisdom and words for this meeting, help her to set godly boundaries with kindness and firmness, to ask clearly for what she and her daughter need, and to be heard with understanding and not judgment. Soften and guide the hearts of the ### workers, the counsellor, and the school, that they would act justly and mercifully and truly help this family. Protect this mother and daughter from harm and from any unjust accusation, and protect this mother from her own bitter or destructive reactions, guarding her mouth and her heart. Steady her body and mind as she adjusts to her medication, let no side effect confuse her thoughts or misrepresent her heart today, and let Your peace rest upon her. Lead her step by step, let her say what is needed and nothing else, and let Your will be done in that room. We entrust this day and this meeting into Your hands, asking all this in Jesus' name, amen.
