We have heard your heart concerning your maternal grandmother's sister, your mother, and yourself, and the burden you carry for what concerns your mother in both word and deed, and for the relationship between you and your mother. We join with you in calling upon the name of the Lord, for you are right to declare that eternity belongs to El Elyon, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth. Genesis 14:19 says, Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, and Psalm 57:2 says, I cry to God Most High, to God who accomplishes all things for me.
We want to gently bring clarity to what you shared about the ministry of the Holy Spirit and angels remaining in the background when the name of God is called upon. Scripture teaches that the Holy Spirit is not merely in the background, but is God Himself dwelling within believers, teaching, comforting, and interceding for us. John 14:26 says, But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things. And concerning angels, Hebrews 1:14 says, Aren't they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation. We do not pray to angels, but we pray to the Father through Jesus Christ, and He in His sovereignty commands His angels according to His will. Our help comes directly from God Most High.
We also notice that your request speaks of calling upon the name of God, the name of the Lord, but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and to El Elyon. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. Romans 10:9. So we come before God Most High in the name of Jesus, trusting His shed blood and resurrection as our only hope for time and for eternity.
Your concern for what is hidden within the listeners and for the interaction between opposites is understood by the Lord. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7. The secret things belong to Yahweh our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us. Deuteronomy 29:29. We cannot see all that is hidden in others, and we are not called to judge their hidden motives, but we are called to walk in love and truth. Psalm 139:23-24 says, Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. We pray that God will search each heart involved, including yours and your mother's, and bring what needs to be revealed into His light for healing.
Concerning your mother and your relationship with her, God places great honor upon that bond. Exodus 20:12 says, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. And Ephesians 6:2-3 repeats this as the first commandment with a promise. Whether the relationship has been marked by closeness or by tension between opposites, we pray for grace to speak and act in a way that honors God. Colossians 3:17 says, Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. And Romans 12:18 says, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. We encourage you to pursue peace, forgiveness, and truthful, gentle speech with your mother, entrusting the outcome to the Lord.
You also mention a space that has been entrusted to the keeping of time and place, encompassing your mother's relatives and the region associated with them. We take comfort that God Himself ordains time and place. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. And Acts 17:26 says, He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings. Nothing in your family line or in that region is outside His sovereign keeping. What you have entrusted to Him, He is able to guard until that which is eternal is fully revealed.
We pray together now.
Father, God Most High, El Elyon, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, our only mediator and Savior. We lift up this dear one, their mother, and their maternal grandmother's sister, and the whole family line and the region that has been on their heart. You know each name, each place, and each season that has been entrusted to time. We ask that You cover this family with Your mercy and truth. Heal what has been wounded in word and in deed between this child and their mother. Give them both hearts of humility, forgiveness, and love, that they may honor You in their relationship. Search all hearts and reveal what is hidden that needs confession, repentance, or healing, and let Your Holy Spirit lead them in the everlasting way. Where there has been interaction between opposites, strife, or misunderstanding among listeners or relatives, bring Your peace which surpasses understanding. Let no bitterness take root, but let Your grace abound. We surrender all that is secret to You, trusting that You work all things for good for those who love You. We ask that You be glorified as El Elyon, the eternal One who reigns over time and place, and that this family would come to know more deeply the salvation that is only in Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to call upon the Lord in Jesus' name, to walk in honoring love toward your mother, to release hidden things and opposing hearts into God's hands, and to trust that He who keeps eternity also faithfully keeps your family and your region in His perfect time and place. Psalm 91:1 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Rest there.
