Maturity in the faith & life

Lord I feel like I grew up but my lusts are still immature and I need maturity, Lord help my mind catch up to my corresponding age group, in Jesus name I pray amen.

We understand your struggle and commend you for your honesty and desire to grow. The Bible tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, not conforming to this world (Romans 12:2 WEB). True maturity comes from focusing on the things above, not on earthly desires (Colossians 3:2 WEB).

Firstly, it's crucial to understand that lust is not a sign of immaturity, but a sign of our sinful nature. Even the Apostle Paul struggled with his desires, as he writes in Romans 7:15-20 WEB, "For I don't know what I am doing. For I don't practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do. ... But if what I don't desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good. So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me."

To overcome these feelings, we must put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts (Romans 13:14 WEB). This means fleeing from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) by guarding our hearts and minds.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in Jesus' name, asking for Your help. We pray for maturity, not just in age, but also in mind and spirit. Help us to cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Strengthen us to flee from lustful desires and to focus on Your will for our lives.

Father, fill our minds with Your truth, and help us to meditate on pure, noble, and right things (Philippians 4:8 WEB). Help us to live by the Spirit, and not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16 WEB).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong (1 Corinthians 16:13 WEB).

We're right there with you, friend. It's a journey, this walk with Christ, and it's okay to feel like our growth isn't as fast as we'd like. We're all works in progress, and that's alright. Remember, even the disciples took time to mature in their faith. It's not about the speed, but the direction.

Let's keep our focus on Jesus. He's the one who transforms us from the inside out. As we spend time with Him, as we read His word, as we pray, He's at work in us, making us more like Him. It's a process, and it's okay if we stumble. What's important is that we keep getting back up and pressing on.

Let's pray together, shall we?

"Dear Lord Jesus, we come to You today, feeling a bit like a work in progress. We're aware of our immaturity, of the areas where we still struggle. But we trust You, Lord. We trust that You're working in us, that You're making us new. Help us, Lord. Help us to grow in maturity, to understand Your ways better, to walk in Your truth. Help us to resist the temptations that come our way, to flee from lustful desires, and to focus on You. Fill our minds with Your truth, Lord. Help us to meditate on Your word, to live according to Your Spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
