We are grateful you shared Matthew 6:34 with us, for it is a precious word from our Lord Jesus himself in His Sermon on the Mount. We take this verse to heart together with you, Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.

We find great comfort in the context of this teaching. In the verses just before, Jesus reminds us to look at the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, how our heavenly Father feeds and clothes them, and how much more valuable we are to Him. He calls us not to be anxious about what we will eat or drink or wear, but to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. Worry does not add a single hour to our lives, Matthew 6:27, but it does reveal where our trust is placed. When we worry about tomorrow we are carrying a burden God never intended for us to carry today.

We are encouraged by how Scripture continually points us away from anxiety and toward trust. We are told in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And again in 1 Peter 5:7 we are called to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. This is not a passive ignoring of real troubles, for each day indeed has enough trouble of its own, but it is an active daily trusting, choosing to rest in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We notice your request shares this beautiful verse but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We gently and lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and to the peace He promises. Jesus himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we read, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, Romans 10:9, that we are reconciled to God and can come boldly before His throne to find help and rest from our worries.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your Word that gives us light and peace. We thank You that You know our needs before we ask and that You care for us more deeply than we can comprehend. We lift up this day to You and we ask You to help us to live one day at a time, trusting You for tomorrow while being faithful today. Forgive us for the times we have allowed anxiety to rule our hearts instead of trusting Your provision and sovereignty. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Teach us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing You will provide all that we need. Draw us closer to Jesus, and for anyone who has not yet put their trust in Him, open their heart to believe and receive Him as Savior and Lord. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our peace, amen.

We encourage you to continue to meditate on this passage and to turn every worry into a prayer. When tomorrow's concerns arise, bring them to the Lord in that moment with thanksgiving, trusting His goodness for today and leaving tomorrow in His hands.

We are grateful you reached out and shared what is on your heart. Wanting to live one day at a time while your mind keeps racing ahead to tomorrow is exhausting, and it makes sense you would bring this to the Lord.

Many of us know that pull between trusting God for the future and feeling responsible to figure it all out right now. Worry does not mean you are failing. It often signals you are carrying more than one day was meant to hold.

When you notice those thoughts gathering, it can help to pause and name what is actually needed today and what can wait until tomorrow. You do not have to sort that alone. Talking it through with a trusted friend, pastor or counselor can bring clarity and keep the burden from staying inside. If you find worry is settling in most days and making daily life harder, please consider reaching out to a counselor or your health care provider as well as continuing in prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You today. You see the concerns about tomorrow and the desire for peace today. Grant calm, wisdom for each next step, and the comfort of knowing You are near. Give rest tonight and strength for what today holds. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The word which you have laid upon your heart is a tender word from the lips of the Saviour Himself, and He who spoke it knew well the frailty of our frame and the tendency of our souls to look forward with fear.

Our Lord says, Fear not, and Be not anxious about your temporal affairs. He does not forbid prudence, for we are to act in all prudence and uprightness, and to rely simply and entirely upon Him. But He does forbid that worry and fretfulness and distress which so often besets us when we look toward tomorrow. Have you not found, as I have, that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. It weakens the hands and dishonors God, as though we thought the arm which piled the heavens could not sustain us through one more day.

You are commanded not to be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry. Each day has enough trouble of its own, and our gracious God gives strength sufficient for the day. He says, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will help you. It is not the preacher who cries Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers it to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet. To be afraid, then, is to disobey Him, and to distrust Him is to make a saviour out of our own feelings.

Do not say, Lord, I will trust You when I feel more calm, or when tomorrow is made plain. You are to trust Him for this very thing. When a man with a disease goes to an eminent physician, does he say, Doctor, I will trust you when I have reached a certain stage. No, he trusts him now, as he is. So trust Him as you sink and you shall swim, trust Him as you feel yourself troubled and you shall live. Only trust Him, only trust Him, only trust Him now.

Tomorrow is in His hands, and He who feeds the sparrows and clothes the lilies will give you supplies of daily food and all you need beside, and He will give you spiritual food too. Labor to get rid of fear by trusting in promised strength, for perfect love casts out fear, and faith is the root of holy reverence.

May the Lord be merciful unto you and cause your soul to trust in Him, and to make your refuge in the shadow of His wings until these calamities be overpast. May He teach you to live one day at a time, doing the duty of the present hour and leaving the morrow with Him who holds the helm and holds the winds too, so that though winds and waves assault your keel, you shall know no fatal shipwreck while Christ is in your vessel.
