Means for Restoring the Banished
Why Are Satan and Sin Permitted?
A Discourse for a Revival Season
We are so thankful you shared Matthew 6:33 with us, for it is a precious promise and a call to reorder our whole lives around the Lord. We take joy in meditating on this truth with you.

This verse comes as Jesus is teaching His disciples not to be anxious about the needs of this life, what we will eat or drink or wear. He reminds us in Matthew 6:31-32 not to be anxious, for our heavenly Father knows that we need all these things. Then He gives the answer to anxiety, But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. To seek first His Kingdom is to put the rule and reign of Christ as the highest priority in our hearts, desires, decisions and daily obedience, trusting that when He is first, everything else finds its proper place.

We are reminded that His righteousness is not something we can earn on our own, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23, but it is given to us through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We notice your request quoted this beautiful verse but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to encourage you that it is only through faith in Jesus that we can truly seek and enter that Kingdom and receive His righteousness, and it is only through His name that we have access to the Father in prayer.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your Kingdom and for Your righteousness made available to us through the blood of Jesus. We ask that You help our dear friend and help us all to truly seek You first above every worry, ambition, and need. Create in us clean hearts that desire Your will more than our own comfort. Teach us to trust You as our Father who knows what we need and who promises to provide as we walk in obedience. Draw us closer to Jesus, that we may know Him as Savior and Lord, and if anyone reading has not yet put their trust in Him, we pray they would believe on Him today and be saved. Give us peace that surpasses understanding as we rest in Your care, and help us to live each day for Your glory. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep dwelling in this passage and in the verses around it, and to continue to bring every care to Him in prayer, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7.

We were grateful to see Matthew 6:33 on your heart. It is such a steady word for the push and pull of daily life, when worries and responsibilities can crowd in and we want to keep Jesus at the center.

We hear in your sharing a desire to put Him first, not just in big decisions but in the ordinary hours, and we want to stand with you in that.

One simple way to let this verse sink in deeper this week is to make it very personal and unhurried. Each morning try saying it aloud a few times, emphasizing a different word each time and pausing to thank God for what that word means for you that day. You might notice one word stays with you, whether it is seek or kingdom or righteousness, and that can gently show you where He is inviting you to trust Him more. It can also help to ask quietly at the start of the day, what would seeking Him first look like in just the next few hours, in work or family or rest, and give that one thing to Him.

We are praying that as you keep turning to Him you will find a quieter confidence, not because everything is settled at once, but because you are walking close to the One who holds it all.

Father, we lift our friend to You today. Draw them nearer as they seek You, calm their heart with Your presence, and give wisdom for each step ahead. Help them to know Your faithful care in both small and large things. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
