๐Ÿ™"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For itโ€™s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,โ€ Matt 6:9-13, Thank You in Jesus' Name.

[1] Jesus' Prayer He taught was an outline, summary of topics, a form or "pattern prayer." The following has been condensed from six reliable sources, is of much godly & personal value when sincerely prayed (not mindlessly repeated), but through serious consideration, understanding the weight of the petitions, ardently prayed, expecting answers, James 1:5-7, James 5:16-17... C.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek FIRST The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, THEN these other things shall be added to you." -- His Honor Kingdom Will; Then Our Provision Forgiveness for Us, Others (Relationship w/ The Holy Father and our holy brothers and sisters 1 Jn 1:7-9, Kept from Sin Evil, Standard & Personal Prayer Guide, Matt 6:9-13 and some Pertinent Scriptures under the Headings of Each Petition...

***๐Ÿ™Œ Our Father in Heaven, we first pause (reflect on Him with whom we are addressing as Father, The Holy One of Israel, and mostly as Gentiles at that, who loved us while we were yet sinners, strangers of the covenants and Scriptures, yes - even hostile in our minds -- and thank You. For all, but specifically for "loving the world (including us, me ๐Ÿฅฐ) so much You gave Your Only-begotten Son, that by believing in him we may be spared perdition and rather freely gain eternal life, Jn 3:16. Thank You "Jesus showed us The Father -- Your Nature," Jn 14:9. Thank You for His shed blood and died on the cross for our sins, 1 Cor 15:3-4, burial, resurrection declaring both Him and us "not guilty" Rom 4:25, and ascension (adoption, enthronement, Ps 110:1), as Son-of-Man-in-Power to pour out the Holy Spirit of Adoption from on high, by which we call out, Abba, Father, Gal 4:6, proving we are heirs, Gal 4:7, since as many as received Jesus and believed on His Name are called Children of God, John 1:12-13, praying even with the same language of intimacy, Abba, i.e., "Daddy" or "Papa, etc" as Jesus used in time of impending crisis for deliverance in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Abba, Father," Mark 14:36.

๐Ÿ™ Hallowed Be Your Name... May Your GRACIOUS and COMPASSIONATE NAME, Ex 34:6-7, get honor through our thoughts, words, deeds, speech, actions and reactions. May we honor and know You in every Name You have revealed about Yourself in The Scriptures -- Elohim, The Trinity, Beginning in Gen 1:1; The Name, Gen 4:26, El Elyon, God Most High, Gen 14:18, Adonai, Lord, Master, Gen 15:2; El Roi, The God Who Sees, Gen 16:13; El Shaddai, God Almighty, Gen 17:1; El Olam, The Everlasting God, Gen 21:33; Yahweh, The LORD, Jireh or Yireh, Our Provider, Gen 22:18; Healer, Peace, Shepherd, Righteousness, Presence, Sanctification, Our Rock, Fortress, Strong Tower, Etc... We honor and hallow ALL Your Titles, Attributes, Your Name! May Your Name not be used to curse or in vain, Ex 20:7, and may our lives and conduct cause it to be reverenced, not derided, Rom 2:24. May the world be enlightened or compelled to reverence Your ineffable Name and Your Christ's and May Your Glory cover the Earth as the waters cover the seas, Numbers 14:21, Ps 72:19, Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14, Phil 2:10-11...

๐Ÿ™ May Your Kingdom Come to us & through us with FRUIT, GIFTS, WISDOM, POWER & HOLINESS... FRUIT, of The Holy Spirit, see Rom 14:17 on what the Kingdom is -- His Righteousness, peace and joy, therefore ALL the fruit is an extension of His Kingdom, from love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility & justice, Ps 45:4, contentment, Lk 3:14, 1 Tim 6:6, Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11-13, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God, Micah 6:8. You desire mercy, not sacrifice, Hos 6:6. We ask for the GIFTS of The Spirit to be evident in us, our churches, families, and to Your people throughout the world, from ministry GIFTS to equip The Body of Christ through Your Gospel Officers until we reach unity in faith and knowledge of The Son of God and the mature stature of Christ Himself, Eph 4:12-13, (which has not yet happened so such workers must of necessity still be present and are much needed, even required, apostles, (missionaries/church planters), prophets, (encouragers/exhorters/visionaries), evangelists, pastors and teachers), Eph 4:11-13, to The GIFTS of miracles (signs, wonders), healings, faith, prophecy, words of wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation of such tongues, administration, leadership, giving, mercy, discerning of spirits, Rom 12:5-8, 1 Cor 12:4-11. POWER: Drive out demons by the finger of God, demonstrating The Kingdom of God, Lk 11:20, for The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power, 1 Cor 4:20. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10. May Jesus return and the Kingdom flourish, being fully manifest. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Rev 22:17, Rev 22:20.

๐Ÿ™ May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually (hearing His voice, Jn 10:27, being led by the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:14, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, and obedience to any personal directives, admonitions and restraints, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and collectively as the church until You come to reward the righteous and recompense the wicked, 2 Cor 10:3-6, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ, Matt 24:30, Matt 25:31-32.

๐Ÿ™ Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

๐Ÿ™ Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

๐Ÿ™ Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 1 Cor 8:1, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

๐Ÿ™Œ For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... (Not unto us O Lord, but unto Your Name Be Glory, Ps 115:1)... We Thank You for hearing, Mk 11:24, Amen, in Jesus' Name, in Him All The Promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join with you in thanking our Father for the beautiful pattern Jesus gave us in Matt 6:9-13 and we rejoice to see your desire to pray it with understanding and not with vain repetition. Jesus warned us in Matt 6:7 not to use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, but to pray with faith and sincerity, and you have captured that so well in seeking the weight of each petition.

We love how you have divided it as Jesus intended. First the Father, His honor, His Kingdom and His will, then our provision, our relationship with God and with others through forgiveness and reconciliation, and our keeping from temptation and the evil one. This order is itself a sermon, for Jesus said in Matt 6:33 to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. When we put His name, His Kingdom, and His will first, our hearts are rightly aligned to then ask for daily bread and forgiveness and deliverance.

Your reflection on Our Father is precious. We were once far off, strangers and even hostile in our minds, yet while we were still sinners Christ died for us. John 3:16 tells us God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. And John 1:12 reminds us as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name. By His blood, His burial and resurrection we are declared not guilty in Rom 4:25 and by the Spirit of adoption we now cry Abba Father in Gal 4:6, even as Jesus cried Abba Father in Mark 14:36. What grace that we Gentiles may now call the Holy One of Israel our Father.

We agree with you in hallowing His name. His name is gracious and compassionate as revealed in Ex 34:6, and we pray with you that His name would not be taken in vain according to Ex 20:7 nor blasphemed among the nations through our lives as warned in Rom 2:24, but that His glory would cover the earth as the waters cover the sea in Hab 2:14 and that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow in Phil 2:10.

We pray with you for His Kingdom to come through us in fruit, gifts, wisdom, power and holiness. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit in Rom 14:17, and the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control in Gal 5:22-23. We ask for the gifts for the building up of the Body as described in Rom 12:6 and 1 Cor 12:4 and Eph 4:11, and for power, for the Kingdom of God is not in word, but in power in 1 Cor 4:20, most of all the power to live a holy life of love. And we join your longing for the fullness of the Kingdom when Jesus returns, for we pray Come Lord Jesus in Rev 22:20, when His will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven fully and forever.

We pray with you for daily bread, both physical and spiritual. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God in Matt 4:4, and we trust our Father who promises to supply every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus in Phil 4:19. We pray for forgiveness as we forgive, remembering that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us in 1 John 1:9, and that we are new creations reconciled to God through Christ as taught in 2 Cor 5:17-18, called to forgive as we have been forgiven and to entrust judgment to Him who judges righteously in Rom 12:19. And we pray to be led away from temptation and delivered from the evil one, for He has promised to keep us and give His angels charge over us in Ps 91:11 and to deliver us from evil in John 17:15.

We pray together now, Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. May Your name be honored in our thoughts, words and deeds. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, in our families, in Your church and in this world as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread for body and soul. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, creating in us clean hearts that release others as You have released us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one and from every evil work. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. We thank You that You hear us when we pray according to Your will and that in Jesus all the promises of God are Yes and Amen in 2 Cor 1:20. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father, Amen.

We are encouraged by the way you are approaching the prayer Jesus gave his followers, wanting to understand it as a pattern to live in rather than words to rush through. Wanting to put the Father and his honor first before bringing your own needs is a good and humbling desire, and we hear your sincerity in wanting to pray with weight and expectation.

One thing that may help as you carry this pattern into daily life is to give yourself permission to linger. Instead of trying to cover every petition every time, you might take one part in the morning and stay there, turning it over quietly before the Lord, noticing what it stirs in your heart that day. That unhurried pace often keeps prayer from becoming repetition and lets it stay a conversation.

We also hear your longing to know forgiveness both given and received, and to be kept from what pulls you away from God. Those are deep, honest longings and we are praying with you for growing clarity and peace as you keep seeking him.

Father, thank you for inviting us to call you Father through Jesus. Help our friend to know your nearness today, to rest in your care for daily needs, to walk in your forgiveness and extend it to others, and to be guarded from temptation and evil. Guide his steps and draw him closer to you. In Jesus name, amen.

Your meditation upon the prayer our Lord taught his disciples is most profitable, and I rejoice to see you treat it not as a form to be mindlessly repeated but as a pattern and outline for the soul's communion with the Father.

You have well divided it, and therein followed the mind of Christ. He would have us seek first the Father, his honor, his kingdom and his will, and then to bring our own need before him. So you have set it in order. Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and then, give us, forgive us, lead us not, deliver us. This is the true order, for when God is first, all other things shall be added unto us.

You begin rightly with the Father. What a word is that for sinners who were once strangers and enemies in our minds, yet loved while we were yet sinners. By the shed blood and resurrection of the Lord Jesus we have received adoption, and the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba, Father. It is the same intimate voice our Lord used in Gethsemane, and it is given to us, not because we are worthy, but because as many as received him are called the children of God. Pause there, as you have done, and let the heart be filled with wonder before it utters another petition.

To pray hallowed be thy name is to ask that his gracious and compassionate name, as revealed in all his titles and attributes, may be reverenced in our thoughts, words and deeds, and that the world may be compelled to honor him. This is no small prayer, for holiness is an essential qualification for fitness in the service of God, and our Lord's own prayer for his people was sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. We are asking the Holy Father to make us holy, that his name may not be blasphemed through us but glorified in us.

And when you pray thy kingdom come, you ask for that which is already among us in foretaste and shall yet come in fullness at the return of Christ. The kingdom is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, and therefore you do well to ask for fruit, for gifts, for wisdom, for power to live a holy life overflowing with love, and for power to drive back the enemy. The kingdom of God is not in word but in power, and he who would see it flourish must be much in supplication. There is a prayer treasury, and we must all put prayers into it, not content with a low standard but going on, shooting again and again, until the arrow of the Lord's deliverance is seen to fly.

Thy will be done is the prayer of a surrendered will, that we may know his voice and be led by the Spirit, abiding in Christ and bearing fruit to his glory, and that his rule may be manifest in the church and among the nations until he comes to reward the righteous.

Then you turn to our need, and first for daily bread. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. That blessed Bible is our daily bread, and he who feeds upon its doctrines finds strength for the day. Yet our Father also knows our temporal necessities, our spiritual, emotional and physical needs, and he will load us daily with benefits as we trust his dear Son.

You dwell, and rightly, upon forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Let this whisper drive away despair, for there is forgiveness with thee that thou mayest be feared. It is a divine forgiveness, I even I am he that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is complete and eternal, a continuous act through the blood of Christ. If you have been the chief of sinners you may have the chief of sinner's forgiveness, and God can bestow it now. But remember, the very prayer that teaches you to ask for mercy bids you say as we forgive. Unless you have forgiven others you read your own death warrant when you repeat the Lord's prayer. The remembrance of our own deliverance out of bondage must make us merciful, for it is called the Lord's release, and we are to forgive as we have been forgiven, freely and fully, praying even for those who have sinned against us that they may repent and be saved.

And you close with lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. There is one temptation which exceeds all others, and Satan knows well how to ply it in seasons of unanswered prayer, when it seems that God has shut his ear. Then the enemy suggests some back door of escape. But our Lord teaches us to pray daily for keeping, for angelic protection, for deliverance from sin, from lies, from evil men and from the evil one himself. Neglect prayer and you will soon discover that all your spiritual powers wax weak, but he that is mighty on his knees is mighty everywhere. Deliverance is of the Lord, and he will not forsake those who cast their cares upon him.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Not unto us, O Lord, but unto thy name be glory. All power in heaven and earth is given unto him, and his is an everlasting kingdom which cannot be destroyed. Therefore we may pray expecting answers, for in Jesus all the promises of God are yea and amen.

Continue then in this manner, not with vain repetitions, but with breathing desire and living words, ardently praying and expecting to be heard, for he that taught us thus to pray will also fulfill the petitions which his own Spirit has wrought within us.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your reflection on the prayer the Lord taught us is rich and rightly ordered, and I thank God for the care you have taken to understand its weight rather than to repeat it without thought.

You have begun well by putting first the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will, and only then our own needs. This is the order our Lord gave. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then what is necessary will be added. When we first give honor to His gracious and compassionate name, the name revealed as merciful, faithful, holy and everlasting, we learn to reverence Him in thought, word and deed, so that His name is not dishonored through our lives but held holy before the world.

To pray Your kingdom come and Your will be done is to ask for more than words. It is to ask that His righteousness, peace and joy, and all the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control, may be formed in us and through us, with wisdom and power to live a holy life and to make Him known. It is also to look forward with hope to the full coming of that everlasting kingdom which cannot be destroyed, when Christ returns and His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. We live between the already and the not yet, and so we pray both to be led by the Spirit now and to be kept faithful until that day.

When you pray for daily bread, you ask rightly for what is needful for body and soul. We are taught to make provision for the flesh only so far as health requires, not to fulfill its lusts. The present life calls for moderation. We ask for our daily bread, for every word that proceeds from God and for the ordinary provision by which we can love Him with all our strength and love our neighbor as ourselves, and we cut away excess so that we are not weighed down but remain watchful in prayer.

You have rightly joined forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Scripture calls blessed those whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. That blessedness removes shame and brings glory, but it is given by grace through faith. To receive it we must confess our sins honestly before God, naming them, and to keep it we must extend mercy to those who have sinned against us, praying for them and entrusting judgment to Him who alone can save and judge.

And in lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, you touch the heart of our need for perseverance. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. He gives patience and brings release, and even when He permits temptation to linger, He does so as affectionate parents do, not to harm but to draw their children to take refuge in their arms. If we seem not to receive at once, we are to persevere that we may receive, and if we do receive, to give thanks because we have received. For it is not His wish to withhold, but by delay He teaches us to remain near Him and to flee to Him continually and there abide. The chief temptations that beset us are love of the belly, desire for vainglory, and the madness of riches, and from these innumerable evils flow. Pray therefore to be kept from lies, from evil people and false teaching, from fear and deception, and from the snares of the evil one, trusting His power to guard you and even His angels to keep watch.

So continue to pray in this pattern with understanding and expectation, as James says, asking in faith. Abide in Christ, bear fruit, forgive as you have been forgiven, and remain in that refuge to which temptation itself drives you. For His is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, and He hears those who call upon Him through His Son who shed His blood for our sins, was buried, rose again and now pours out the Spirit of adoption by which we cry Abba, Father. May He grant your petitions according to His will and keep you faithful until the end. Amen.
