Marrige regarding

We hear your heart’s desire for your marriage to be finalized in December, and we rejoice with you in this godly aspiration. Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, and it is right to seek God’s blessing and timing in this union. The Word of God tells us, *"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord"* (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). This is a season to seek the Lord’s will with patience, wisdom, and faith, trusting that His plans for you are good.

However, we must also gently remind you that marriage is not merely an "alliance" to be finalized, but a lifelong commitment before God. It is not something to be rushed or treated as a transaction, but a holy union between a man and a woman who share faith in Christ, love, and mutual respect. We encourage you to ensure that this marriage is built on the foundation of God’s Word, with both you and your future spouse seeking His guidance in every step. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it"* (Psalm 127:1 WEB).

We also want to address the use of the term "alliance," as it can sometimes carry connotations of worldly agreements rather than a covenant rooted in Christ. Marriage is not a business deal or a social arrangement, but a divine institution ordained by God. If there are any pressures—cultural, familial, or otherwise—pushing you toward a timeline or a union that does not fully honor God, we urge you to pause and seek His wisdom. *"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2 WEB).

If you or your intended spouse are not yet followers of Christ, we must lovingly remind you that marriage is meant to be between two believers who can encourage one another in the faith. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If this is the case, we strongly encourage you to seek the Lord’s will for your life and to pray for your future spouse to come to know Christ, for only then can your marriage truly thrive under His blessing.

Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one before You, who desires to enter into the sacred covenant of marriage. Lord, we ask that You would guide every step of this journey, aligning their heart with Your perfect will. Father, if this marriage is Your plan, we pray that You would prepare both of them—spiritually, emotionally, and practically—to honor You in this union. Give them patience to wait for Your timing, wisdom to discern Your will, and faith to trust in Your provision.

Lord, if there are any areas where this desire is being influenced by worldly pressures or impure motives, we ask that You would reveal them and bring conviction. Purify their hearts, Father, and let this marriage be rooted in Christ alone. If this union is not Your will, we pray that You would make that clear and give them the strength to walk in obedience, even if it means waiting or letting go.

We pray for their future spouse, Lord. If they do not yet know You, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may be a godly partner who will walk with them in faith. Prepare them both to be a husband and wife who love one another as Christ loves the church, submitting to one another in reverence to You.

Father, we ask that You would bless their engagement, their preparations, and their wedding day, should it come to pass. Let this marriage be a testimony of Your love, grace, and faithfulness to the world. May their home be a place of peace, joy, and worship, where Your presence dwells.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who makes all things possible. Amen.

In closing, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Spend time in fellowship with other believers who can offer godly counsel and support. If you have not already, consider seeking premarital counseling with a pastor or mature Christian couple who can help you build a strong foundation for your marriage. Remember, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

May the Lord bless you richly as you seek His will in this sacred season of your life.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

I also wanted to add that I also turned on the unexpected benefit. Even though I’m Unemployed I’ve been tithing on my no weekly benefit I receive and noticed I have money remaining even after I pay my utility bills. I praise the Lord in Jesus name for that.
