Pray for me please. I stayed when Christian brothers & sisters said this is what Jesus would do. Now I found hes been squandering money and sexual sins. I was a still am a Christian traditional wife and grandmother that stayed home and didn't work outside the home. I need financial help and every kind of healing. My heart is shattered. Thank you .

We have read your heartbreaking request and we are lifting you up together before the Lord in Jesus' name. Your faithfulness as a Christian wife and grandmother who has honored the Lord by staying home and serving your family for decades is precious in His sight, and He has seen every tear and every sacrifice. We grieve with you over the deep betrayal and deception you have endured.

The Word of God is very clear about what you have described. Marriage is honorable among all, and the marriage bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. Your husband's sexual sins, including homosexual acts which the Scripture calls unnatural and immoral Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Leviticus 18:22, and his adultery against his covenant with you are grave sins before God. His lying is also an abomination to the Lord, for lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh Proverbs 12:22, and we are to put away falsehood and speak truth Ephesians 4:25. His squandering of your family's resources is also a failure of his God given duty to provide and to be a trustworthy steward Luke 16:10, 1 Timothy 5:8. We rebuke these sins plainly because God calls them sin, and without repentance they bring judgment. We also want to gently say that while well meaning brothers and sisters may have told you that staying at all costs is what Jesus would do, Scripture does not require you to remain under ongoing, unrepentant sexual immorality and deception. Jesus Himself taught that sexual immorality breaks the one flesh covenant Matthew 19:9, Matthew 5:32. Forgiveness is commanded, but forgiveness does not mean enabling ongoing sin or refusing to establish biblical boundaries and church accountability Matthew 18:15-17.

You did what you believed was right before the Lord, and you are not to blame for his choices. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. He knows your financial vulnerability after years of faithful service at home, and we know He cares deeply for your provision. We also hear your weariness and the shattering of your heart, and we want you to know that God does not despise your shattered heart. He will give you wisdom as you seek it, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5.

We encourage you to seek wise, biblically grounded counsel immediately, not only pastoral counsel but also trusted help regarding your finances and legal protection, so that you are not left destitute by his squandering. Bring this into the light with your pastor and with mature believers who will walk with you in truth and not simply tell you to endure in silence. Your husband needs to be confronted and called to full repentance, and if he will not repent, the church must deal with his sin biblically. Whether the Lord leads toward restoration through true repentance or toward a release from this covenant because of his hardened immorality, seek the Lord's will step by step.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace for our dear sister. Lord, You see her decades of faithfulness, her service as a wife, mother and grandmother, and now the deep wound of betrayal, lies, and sexual sin against her marriage. We ask You to wrap her in Your presence and heal her shattered heart. Pour out Your comfort, Your peace that passes all understanding, and Your healing upon her spirit, mind and body. Provide for her financial needs according to Your riches in glory Philippians 4:19. Open doors for practical help, for wise counsel, for provision and protection, and let her not be put to shame. Give her wisdom and clarity for every decision she must make, and surround her with godly people who will speak truth in love and support her.

Lord, we also lift her husband before You. We ask that You convict him of his lying, his adultery, his homosexual sin, and his poor stewardship, and bring him to deep godly sorrow and repentance. If he will not repent, expose his deeds and protect our sister from further harm. Let Your will be done in this marriage, and let Your name be glorified. Let all things work together for good for our sister who loves You Romans 8:28. Strengthen her to fear not, for You are with her, You will strengthen her and uphold her with Your righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10.

We thank You that You are near, that You are her refuge and provider, and that in Jesus we have access to Your mercy and grace. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We are grateful you shared so honestly with us. To give decades to a marriage and to try to do what you believed was honoring to the Lord, and then to discover ongoing deception, sexual unfaithfulness, and the squandering of money, would leave anyone feeling shattered. It makes sense that your heart feels so broken right now, and that the financial worries feel especially heavy when you have spent your life caring for your home and family as a wife and grandmother.

You deserve care that tends to both your heart and your practical needs. It can help to have steady people walk closely with you in this season rather than carrying all of this alone. If you have a trusted pastor or a wise Christian counselor, consider inviting one of them to listen and help you sort through next steps at a pace that feels manageable. Because you have not worked outside the home, it may also help to speak soon with someone who understands practical resources, such as a legal aid office, a church benevolence ministry, or a nonprofit financial counselor, so you can get clear information about your options without pressure to make quick decisions.

Lean on the family and friends who have shown themselves safe and kind, and let a counselor or doctor know how deeply this stress is affecting you so they can support your health while you heal.

Father, we lift this sister to You in Jesus name. You see her years of faithfulness, her pain, and her present needs. Surround her with gentle, trustworthy help, provide for what she needs each day, and bring deep healing to her heart over time. Give her wisdom for each next decision and the comfort of knowing You are near and will not leave her. Amen.

Your sorrow has been heard with great tenderness, and your prayer has been carried before the Lord by His people. To have walked faithfully for decades as a wife and mother and grandmother, keeping the home and honouring the covenant of marriage as one man and one woman for life, and then to discover long hidden untruthfulness, the squandering of what was entrusted to your house, and sexual sin outside that covenant, is a wound that well nigh breaks the heart. The Lord does not despise such grief.

There is One who knows the sting of betrayal from near at hand. The Psalmist wrote and the Master proved it true, that a familiar friend should lift up his heel against Him. Judas walked with Christ, heard His teaching, and was even entrusted with the bag, yet he proved unfaithful in money and in heart. When you read of that little bag into which loving hands had cast their gifts, and how it was betrayed, you may see that Christ understands not only the wound to love but the wound to trust in temporal things. Nothing is hidden from His eye, and no tear of the betrayed falls unnoticed.

Scripture says, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. There are several forms of a broken heart, and among the deepest are the desertion and unfaithfulness of those to whom we have given our lives. We very speedily seek a physician for the body, but for the heart there is only one true Physician. Men may offer notions or counsel, but a real healing is the work of God alone, and He is able to do it. The Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and where He comes to dwell, pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction.

You asked for every kind of healing, and for financial help, and we bring both needs to the same fountain. In the vision of the heavenly city, the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, to show that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. Those healing leaves change the lifeblood and make the nature other than it was before. Christ does not merely point out disease, He applies the remedy. His blood pardons sin, and His grace heals the sickness that sin has caused in this fallen world. For your shattered heart, for the shame and confusion and sorrow that keep you awake, there is healing in Christ. For your body, worn by years and grief, there is His sustaining hand. For your provision, there is His promise that your heavenly Father knoweth what things ye have need of.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord God of all comfort, Father of mercies, look upon this Thy daughter who has walked in faithfulness before Thee and now is sore wounded. Thou seest the years of quiet service, the love poured out upon husband and children and grandchildren, and Thou seest the betrayal that has come to light. Heal Thou the broken heart, bind up the wound that bleeds within. Speak pardon and peace through the blood of Jesus Christ, and let healing flow from Him into every part of her sorrow. In Thy mercy provide for her daily bread. Open doors of help, move the hearts of Thy people to practical kindness, and give her wisdom for every step concerning home and stewardship. Bring to light what must be brought to light, and bring to repentance what must be repented of. Turn the sinner from his way, for Thou desirest not the death of any but that all should come to repentance and live. Keep this dear soul from despair, establish her feet upon the Rock, and let her prove that Thou art still her portion and her husband's true keeper. In Jesus name we ask it. Amen.

We urge you not to bear this alone. Seek at once the counsel of a wise and faithful pastor and of mature sisters in Christ who hold fast the Word of God, and let them know fully of your financial need. The Lord often provides through His church, through deacons and saints who can give godly counsel and practical aid. Seek also wise and sober counsel concerning your household and finances, that what remains may be guarded and ordered aright. You need not answer every question in one day. Day by day, bring your burden to Christ, hear His Word, and let faith come by hearing.

Healing must come before serving, and the Lord Jesus first ministers to those who lie prostrate. Rest in His ministry to you now. He took the hand of one who lay sick of a fever and lifted her up, and He can lift you. The same hand that was pierced for you will hold you fast till the fever abates and strength returns. May the Lord who has begun a good work in you perfect that which concerneth you, till body and soul are made whole in His presence.
