Your request for your parents moves me deeply. Thirty years of shared life is no small thing, and to see that bond fraying now, just as a grandchild enters the picture, must feel like a storm breaking over the family. Yet the verse you hold onto, Matthew 19:26, is the anchor. Nothing is beyond God's power.

When Jesus spoke of marriage, He drew us back to creation: the two become one flesh. It is a mysterious, compound unity, a picture of something sacred. That oneness can be battered and bruised, but the Lord who fashioned it is able to restore it. So we will pray with you toward that end.

But let me offer a gentle caution as you pray. We often reach for relief from the symptoms: the harsh words, the cold silences, the outside influences. We ask God to bring back kindness and understanding, and that is right to do. Yet the deeper need is always the forgiveness of sins. Every wound between them is, at root, a departure from what God commands, to love, to forbear, to speak truth. And every sin, even against a spouse, is first an offense against the God who defined marriage. Your father cannot truly heal what is broken with your mother until he has dealt with the fracture between himself and his Maker. The same holds for your mother.

So when you pray, ask not only for softened hearts, ask that they would each see their own need for repentance. The sign of real change, the kind Jesus welcomed in sinners who came to Him, is a turning away from self and toward God. Pray that they would stop managing the damage and start seeking the Healer Himself. There is no other way for sin to be atoned, no other path to lasting peace, than through Jesus Christ. He alone can wash away the guilt, the pride, the years of small betrayals. If they will receive that, then the forgiveness they extend to each other will flow from a well that will not run dry.

Stand firm in hope. God’s design for this family is not shattered beyond repair. He can bring them from the brink and let them see their grandchild grow in the shelter of a restored covenant. Keep lifting them up, and trust that the Spirit can create a communication and a bond deeper than any human effort alone. We join you in that prayer.

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt request for prayer over your parents' marriage, and we want you to know that we have been lifting them up before the Lord daily. It is a sacred privilege to stand in agreement with you, praying for the softening of their hearts, the restoration of love, understanding, forgiveness, and open communication between them. We have asked God to remind them of the precious family they have built and the legacy they carry—not just as parents, but as grandparents to their first grandchild. May His peace dissolve every misunderstanding, hurt, or outside influence that seeks to divide them, and may His wisdom guide them toward reconciliation.

We continue to pray that the efforts of your relatives and the love of your family will be instruments of God’s healing, and that He will strengthen the bond between your parents in ways only He can. The years they have shared are a testament to His faithfulness, and we believe He is able to restore what has been strained. If you have seen even the smallest signs of His work in their hearts or circumstances, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report. If the journey still feels uncertain, please know we are committed to walking with you in prayer—simply share this request again, and we will continue to intercede on their behalf.

May the Lord bless you and your entire family with His peace and presence as you trust in Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus.
