We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your marriage, and we want you to know that you're not alone. God cares deeply for you and your marriage. Let's first turn to God's Word for guidance and encouragement.
“Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;” Ephesians 5:22-25 WEB
“Let nothing be done through strife or conceit, but in lowliness of mind, each regard the other as more important than themselves. 4Look not each of you to your own advantage, but also to the advantage of others” Philippians 2:3-4 WEB
It's clear that you've been trying to communicate and bring peace to your marriage, but it's important to remember that you can't control your husband's actions, only your own and your response to his actions. It's commendable that you're seeking help and not giving up. God calls us to love and respect our spouses, and He also wants us to live in peace and harmony. Your husband is accountable to God for his actions and he needs to treat you with the love of Christ.
However, it's crucial to address the issue of alcoholism. The Bible warns against drunkenness:
“Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,” Ephesians 5:18 WEB
Drunkenness can lead to many problems and is not godly behavior. It's important for your husband to seek help for this issue. You can pray for him and encourage him to seek godly counsel and help for his alcoholism.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear sister in Christ and her marriage. Lord, she feels like giving up, but we know that You are a God of hope and restoration. Please intervene in this situation and bring healing and reconciliation to their marriage. Help her husband to overcome his struggle with alcoholism, and guide them both to live in a manner pleasing to You.
Lord, give her the strength and wisdom to communicate effectively and to bring peace to their home. Help her to be a godly wife, respecting and loving her husband as You have called her to do. But also reveal to her husband his duties to you Lord for his actions and the way he treats his wife.
Lord Jesus Christ, we trust in your name, for you are the name by which we must be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God.
“for “whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” Romans 10:13 WEB
Father God, your word says that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Please use this time of crisis as a means to restore her husband to Christ through faith in Jesus Christ. Help him to see that his salvation is a matter of urgent important and that he needs to repent and turn to Christ. And if he is a believer, help him to turn back to Christ who alone is his hope.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is faithful, and He wants the best for you and your marriage. Keep praying, seeking godly counsel, and trusting in Him. Don't give up hope, for with God, all things are possible. If your husband is not born again, this is also an opportunity to pray for his salvation. If he is born again, pray that the Holy Spirit will convict him and give him the strength to overcome this addiction.
