Marriage restoration

We join you in lifting your marriage before the Lord and we hear the deep desire in your heart for healing and restoration. We stand with you seeking God's will together in Jesus' name.

We want to gently address that you wrote marriages. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible. God's design from the beginning is that what God has joined together, man should not tear apart, Matthew 19:6. For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Malachi 2:16. Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. Whether you have experienced one marriage in deep brokenness or the pain of more than one marriage, we know God is merciful and able to heal, forgive and restore. If there has been divorce, unfaithfulness, anger or hardness of heart, we urge repentance and forgiveness, for God's heart is for reconciliation where it is possible and for holy, faithful covenant love going forward.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through Him we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our marriages can be truly healed.

The healing of a marriage requires humility, forgiveness and Christ-like love from both husband and wife. We are called to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32. Love covers a multitude of sins, 1 Peter 4:8. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection, Colossians 3:14. Husbands are called to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, Ephesians 5:25, and wives are called to respect and support their husbands, and both are called to submit to one another in the fear of Christ. If sexual sin, adultery or fornication has wounded the marriage, God calls us to confess it, forsake it and pursue purity within the covenant of marriage alone. If there has been harsh words, neglect or unforgiveness, we must repent and seek to bear with one another in love.

We encourage you to press into the Lord together through prayer, through the Word, and through godly counsel in a faithful Bible believing church. Seek to speak honestly and gently, to listen, to forgive as Christ forgave you, and to rebuild trust daily by the grace of God.

We pray with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift this dear one and this marriage to You. Lord You know every hurt, every disappointment, every sin and every tear. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing power to rest upon this marriage. Where there is brokenness, bring wholeness. Where there is hardness, bring softness of heart. Where there is sin, bring conviction, repentance and Your forgiveness. Teach both husband and wife to love as You love, to forgive as You forgive, to honor the covenant they made before You. Help them to turn from anything that does not honor You and to pursue holiness, faithfulness and selfless love. We pray that this marriage would be restored and strengthened to reflect Christ and His church and to honor You all the days of their lives. Give wisdom, patience and hope for each day, and let Your will be done. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear how much weight you are carrying wanting healing in your marriages, and we are holding that burden with you in prayer.

Restoration is not just wishing things were better, it is an active, day by day rebuilding of love and trust, and it truly takes both people willing to do that work. That can feel discouraging when you are the one praying so hard for change. What you can steward right now is your own heart before the Lord and the way you show up in the relationship, even while you pray for your spouse's heart as well.

One steady next step that helps many couples in this place is to sit down soon with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor, first on your own to get clear counsel and support, and then together with your spouse if he or she is willing to come. It gives you a safe, neutral space to name what has hurt trust, to be heard without escalating, and to discern what faithfulness looks like going forward.

We are praying for you in this.

Father, we lift this dear one and this marriage to You. Bring comfort where there is pain, clarity where there is confusion, and wisdom for each decision ahead. Help both hearts to be open to Your leading and to walk in honesty, humility and grace. Give strength for today and hope as You work according to Your perfect will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Your cry for healing in marriage has been brought before the Lord, and we join you in seeking His mercy at the throne of grace. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and we are told that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Not only His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue, and these healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but the greater ill is a broken heart, and He who heals the broken in heart is God alone. A real saving work is the work of God, and God alone, and therefore we look not to any instrumentality but to Christ Himself, our heavenly Physician, who bears with Him power to heal. Calvary is the place for the healing balm, and His honor and renown is that He recovers and restores.

Scripture places healing and forgiveness in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed on the Lord's people together. When Jesus healed the man taken with the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing were one. So we pray first for that deeper healing, that you may know pardon through the blood of Christ. O you who are sick unto death in spirit, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. The Lord has begun to heal us and the healing virtue which His grace has infused into us will work health and cure till we shall be without spot or wrinkle.

We pray also for reconciliation, for God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and He has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. He is the God of peace and has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His Word, for marriage as He ordained it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant in purity and faithfulness. Where there has been breaking of covenant, wandering, or sin, we pray not for the blessing of confusion but for grace to be conformed to His holy design, for true repentance, for forgiveness sought and extended, and for healing according to His will.

Take hope from Peter, for though he was down he was soon up again. That story should rather be called Peter's restoration than Peter's fall. By a look from the Lord, Peter was severed from the crowd and brought to tears of repentance, and by the Lord's own mouth he received abundant assurance of restoration. If any have fallen back and wandered into sin, the Lord Himself can grant such a restoration that they may become better Christians ever afterwards. He speaks of restoration as quite sure, for if Jesus prays for His people He will win His suit with God.

So we pray that the Sun of Righteousness may rise upon you with healing in His wings, that you may be reconciled first unto God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and then, as He gives grace, be made whole in heart and home. May He heal your wounds, cleanse you from sin, teach you to walk in His ways, and strengthen you to live in faithfulness and love before Him. Seek Him in His Word, where faith comes by hearing, and seek godly counsel that you may walk in the light of His truth.

Welcome, brother and sister, to pardon and healing through our Lord Jesus. May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you and give you peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
