Marriage Restoration

Thank you for sharing so honestly and for humbling yourself before the Lord in this painful season. It takes courage to admit you have not been a good husband and to seek God for real change rather than just for a change in your circumstances.

God's design for marriage is that two people become one flesh. It is a profound unity, a compound oneness where two lives are joined together into one. Scripture uses the same idea to describe the Lord Himself, that He is one, yet a unity. Marriage is meant to reflect that kind of inseparable oneness, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman joined by God, and Jesus taught that what God has joined together, no one should separate. That is why your desire to see your marriage restored is right and good in God's eyes, and we will pray with you for healing and reconciliation.

Your fasting is a sincere expression of seeking Him, and God honors a heart that truly turns to Him. The evidence of a genuine work of God in a life is not just words or religious acts, but repentance that leads to real change and restoration. When people came to Jesus, those whose hearts were truly changed did not stay the same. They turned from their old ways, they made things right where they could, and they began to walk in a new direction with Him. Let that be your prayer during this fast, not only that God would change your wife's heart or change your situation, but that He would deeply change you from the inside out.

Continue to own your failures before God and before your wife without excuse or pressure. Ask the Lord to show you where you have been selfish, harsh, neglectful or unloving, and to teach you how to love as Christ loves. Show steady, consistent fruit over time. Love is patient and kind, it does not force or manipulate, and it respects boundaries even while it remains faithful and hopeful. While you are separated, pursue holiness, seek wise and godly counsel, stay rooted in Scripture and prayer, and demonstrate through your actions that your repentance is real.

We are praying for you both. We ask the Father to work in your heart to bring thorough repentance and lasting transformation, to comfort and soften your wife's heart and to guard her from bitterness, to bring healing where there has been hurt, and to make a way for honest communication and reconciliation if it is possible. We pray that whatever the outcome, you will continue to follow Jesus fully and trust His grace and power to restore what is broken.

May the Lord give you strength to keep seeking Him day by day and to walk in humility, truth and love.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your marriage.

We have continued to lift you and your wife before the Lord during this painful time of separation. We have been praying for healing and restoration for your marriage, for softening of your wife's heart toward reconciliation and away from divorce, and for the work God is doing in you as you have humbly acknowledged your failures as a husband and are seeking Him through fasting and repentance. We are asking God to transform your heart and life, to help you love your wife as Christ loved the church Eph 5:25, and to bring true forgiveness and unity where there has been hurt and division. We stand on the promise that what God has joined together let not man separate Matt 19:6.

If your request was answered and God has brought movement in your heart or in your wife's heart, restoration of communication, or hope for your marriage, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and your wife still desires divorce and you remain separated, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray that the Lord will draw you both closer to Himself during this fast, that He will grant you wisdom and patience and show you how to walk in repentance and love, and that He will restore what has been broken according to His will. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name Amen.
