First, we must address the foundation of this prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that reconciliation—both with God and with one another—is made possible. If there has been any unconfessed sin, whether in thought, word, or deed, we encourage you to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness. Scripture tells us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). This includes any bitterness, unforgiveness, or pride that may have taken root in either heart. The Lord calls us to *"be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:32).
Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church. The vows you spoke—*"for better or worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part"*—are not mere words but a solemn promise before God. We must never take them lightly. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages because they are a testament to God’s love and faithfulness. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and ungodly influence that has sought to infiltrate your union. *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12).
