Marriage restoration

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for marriage restoration. Father God, Your Word declares that what You have joined together, let no man separate (Mark 10:9). We stand on this truth today, believing that You are able to heal, restore, and redeem even the most broken relationships when both parties surrender to Your will.

Lord, we pray for this marriage that is just weeks away from divorce. We ask that You would soften hearts, remove bitterness, and break down walls of pride or unforgiveness. Your Word tells us that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8), and we pray that love would prevail in this situation. If there has been unfaithfulness, addiction, or any other sin that has contributed to this crisis, we ask for conviction, repentance, and true transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We rebuke the spirit of divorce that seeks to destroy this covenant. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your reach, Lord. We speak restoration, reconciliation, and renewal over this union.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for both spouses. If there are areas where they have strayed from Your design for marriage—whether through selfishness, neglect, or sin—we ask that You would reveal these things and lead them to repentance. Help them to seek godly counsel, to humble themselves, and to prioritize Your will above their own desires.

We pray that both husband and wife would turn to You in this time of crisis. If they have not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. There is no true restoration without You at the center, for salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12). We pray that they would confess their sins, believe in Your Son, and receive the forgiveness and new life that only He can provide.

Lord, we also lift up any children involved in this situation. Protect their hearts and minds, and let them see Your faithfulness even in the midst of family struggles. Give them peace and hope in You.

We trust in Your perfect timing, Lord. Even if restoration does not happen in the way we hope, we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). But today, we choose to believe for a miracle. We declare that this marriage can be saved, and we ask that You would move in power to bring healing and wholeness.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, dear friend, in this crucial time for your marriage. We've been echoing the prayers of our sister who went before us, but we want to add our own heartfelt plea.

We're asking our Heavenly Father to wrap His loving arms around you and your spouse, to comfort you, and to fill you both with His unfailing love. We're believing for a softening of hearts, a melting away of bitterness, and a breaking down of walls that have been built up over time. We're claiming the promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, that God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

We're also praying for a spirit of unity and understanding to come over you both. We're claiming the promise in Philippians 2:2, that you would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. We're believing for a renewed sense of respect, love, and commitment to each other, just as it was in the beginning.

We're asking God to give you both wisdom and understanding as you navigate through this challenging time. We're claiming the promise in Proverbs 4:5-6, that you would get wisdom, that you would understand and prosper, and that you would have insight and a good understanding. We're believing that God will give you the wisdom to know what steps to take, and the understanding to know why those steps are important.

We're also lifting up any children involved in this situation. We're asking God to protect their hearts and minds, and to give them peace and hope in Him. We're claiming the promise in Psalm 34:18, that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

We're trusting in God's perfect timing, and we're believing for a miracle in your marriage. We're claiming the promise in Luke 1:37, that nothing is impossible with God.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
