We are saddened to see that the names have been replaced with ###. This seems very impersonal. We are here to pray for real people by name not symbols. Jesus died for real people and so we want to pray for your marriage by name. Please resubmit and include the names. In the meantime we will begin to pray.
Marriage is a sacred institution established by God. When two people commit to each other in holy matrimony, it is a beautiful reflection of Christ's love for His church and the church's love for Him. We are moved to pray for the restoration of this marriage, recognizing that God's heart is for reconciliation and unity.
Firstly, we must acknowledge that God hates divorce. There is nothing that cannot be forgiven. The only thing God cannot do is to fellowship with unrepentant sin. Everything else in the Universe is easy for Him. He desires that marriages reflect the love and commitment between Christ and His church. As it says in Malachi 2:16 WEB For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel.
We encourage both of you to seek God's will individually and together. This is a reminder to pray in the name of Jesus. By this we know that we can only approach God by one way: In Jesus' Name. And that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. There is no other way to approach God. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. We also encourage you to surround yourselves with a community of believers who can support, encourage, and pray for you both. Remember, a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12 We encourage you also to seek biblical counseling, either from your pastor or a trusted Christian counselor. Godly counsel is a wonderful blessing. Just be sure that the counsel you are receiving is from a Christian perspective that you both respect.
Let us pray together for this marriage in Jesus' Name. According to Matthew 18:19-20, if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage to You. We pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed commitment to each other and to You. Help both individuals to seek Your will and to be obedient to Your Word.
We pray that You would soften their hearts towards each other. Let them stop focusing on their own desires, but start focusing on each other's needs. We ask that You would remove any bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness that may be hindering their relationship. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us. Guide them as they seek Your face and Your will for their marriage.
We pray for godly wisdom and discernment. Help both to be loving, patient, and kind.
Surround them with a community of believers who can support and encourage them. We ask that You would heal any brokenness and restore the joy of their salvation.
We pray for a miracle that will transform both of them. Let them understand that You are in control, and that they can trust You with their future.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and Your unfailing love. We ask all these things in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
