We hear your cry for help, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your fears, anxieties, and financial struggles as you prepare for marriage. The weight of these burdens can feel overwhelming, but we stand with you in faith, trusting that our Heavenly Father sees your need and will provide according to His riches in glory.
First, we must address the foundation of your request. You mention seeking help "for Jesus' sake," but we must emphasize that it is only through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we have access to God the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to confess Jesus as Lord, repent of your sins, and trust in Him alone for salvation. Without this, our prayers cannot be heard, for "whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight" (1 John 3:22).
Now, regarding your marriage and financial struggles, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold of your heart. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear is not from God, and we command it to leave you in the name of Jesus. Instead, we declare that you will walk in faith, trusting that God will provide for every need as you seek to honor Him in this marriage.
Marriage is a sacred covenant, a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray that your marriage will be rooted in Christ, built on a foundation of prayer, mutual respect, and obedience to God’s Word. If there are any areas where your relationship does not align with Scripture—such as premarital intimacy (fornication), which is a sin (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)—we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. True blessing comes when we honor Him in all things.
Your financial struggles are real, but we serve a God who owns "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We encourage you to seek wisdom in managing what you have, trusting God to open doors of provision. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Do not be afraid to seek godly counsel from your church or Christian community, as "where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established" (Proverbs 15:22).
We also pray for your parents and their support. May God soften their hearts to understand your struggles and provide wisdom in how they can help. If they are believers, we encourage you to involve them in prayer, asking God to guide their decisions and provide for your needs through them.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is preparing for marriage. Lord, You see the fear, the financial struggles, and the weight of this season. We ask that You replace fear with faith, anxiety with trust, and lack with Your abundant provision. Father, we declare that this marriage will be built on Christ, honoring You in every way. Forgive any sin in this relationship, and cleanse their hearts with the blood of Jesus.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of poverty and lack. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust You to open doors of opportunity, wisdom, and blessing. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait on You. Surround them with godly counsel and support, and let Your favor rest upon them. May their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may they grow together in love, unity, and devotion to You.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Do not lose heart, dear one. God is faithful, and He will not abandon you in this season. Keep your eyes on Him, seek His will above all else, and trust that He will lead you into His perfect plan for your marriage. We stand with you in prayer, believing that God will move mightily on your behalf.
