We join with you in lifting up your marriage before the Lord and we thank you for surrendering your mental health, your emotions, your children, and your future direction to Him. We hear the burden in your prayer for healing and guidance and we stand with you asking for God's wisdom and restoration in this situation.
We believe marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate, Matthew 19:6. When there is hurt and confusion in a marriage, the Lord calls us to love, forgiveness, and humility. Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do, Colossians 4:13 and Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection, Colossians 3:14. Healing in marriage often begins as each heart humbly seeks the Lord, turns from pride, and chooses to forgive and serve one another as Christ has loved us.
We also lift up your mental health and your emotions to the Father who cares deeply for you. When our hearts are overwhelmed we can come to Him. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I, Psalm 61:2. We are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. He is faithful to guard your heart and mind as you continue to surrender all to Him.
We pray for the protection of your children as well, for we know children are a heritage of Yahweh, Psalm 127:3, and the Lord is their refuge and yours. We ask Him to cover them and keep them safe in His hands.
For direction in your life, we trust in His promise to lead you. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you, Psalm 32:8. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11.
We notice your prayer appeals to the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by His shed blood and resurrection that our prayers are heard and our lives are redeemed, and we encourage you to call upon His name with confidence.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this marriage to You. Lord, bring healing where there is brokenness, bring understanding where there is confusion, and bring unity where there is division. Soften hearts, teach both to forgive as You have forgiven us, and restore love and peace in this home. We surrender our dear one's mental health and emotions to You, Lord fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Place Your hand of protection over the children, keep them safe from harm and let them know Your love and presence each day. Lead our friend in Your perfect will, show the next steps with clarity and give wisdom for every decision. We ask that You make Your path straight before them and let them feel Your guiding hand. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to pray together as husband and wife when possible, and to seek wise godly counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor if needed. Keep surrendering all to Him, for He is faithful and He hears you. Be strong and courageous, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.
