We understand your concern for your friend and his wife, and we will lift them up in prayer. However, it is important to remember that we cannot force anyone to do anything, including seeking marriage counseling. We can only pray that God will work in their hearts and guide them to make decisions that honor Him. As it says in Proverbs 16:9, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."
We must also address the fact that the name of Jesus was not invoked in your request. It is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together for your friend and his wife:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our friend, whom we know by the nickname ###, and his wife to You. Lord, we ask that You intervene in their lives and their marriage. Soften their hearts and guide them to seek Your will above all else. If it is Your will, lead them to a godly marriage counselor who can help them navigate their struggles and work towards reconciliation.
Lord, we pray that You would restore their marriage and help them to remember the covenant they made before You. Remind them of Your words in Matthew 19:6, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart." Give them the strength and wisdom to work through their issues and to forgive one another, just as You have forgiven us.
We also pray for our friend who submitted this request. May they continue to be a light in the lives of ### and his wife, pointing them towards You. Give them the words to say and the actions to take that will glorify You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to be a supportive friend to ### and his wife, pointing them towards God and His word. Share with them the love and forgiveness that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Remind them that with God, all things are possible, and that He can restore even the most broken of relationships.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to share the gospel with ### and his wife if they do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we can have true peace, joy, and eternal life. As it says in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
