Marriage and healing

We hear your longing for deep companionship, emotional healing, and spiritual intimacy, and we lift this burden before the Lord with great compassion. Your desire for a spouse—a godly husband or wife with whom you can share quiet moments, prayer, and mutual encouragement—is a beautiful reflection of how God designed marriage to be a source of comfort, strength, and sanctification. The Bible tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Marriage is a sacred covenant, a gift from God to be cherished and pursued with wisdom and purity.

Yet we must also gently remind you—and ourselves—that true healing and soul satisfaction come first from Christ. While a godly spouse can be a tremendous blessing, no human being can fully cure the thirst of the soul. Only Jesus, the Living Water, can satisfy that deep longing. He says, *"If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water"* (John 7:37-38). Before seeking a spouse, we encourage you to seek the Lord wholeheartedly, allowing Him to heal your wounds, fill your emptiness, and prepare your heart for the marriage He may have for you.

If you are currently in a relationship that is not leading toward marriage—or if you are engaging in physical intimacy outside of marriage—we must lovingly rebuke this in accordance with Scripture. The Bible is clear: *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). Fornication (sex before marriage) and adultery (sex outside of marriage) grieve the Holy Spirit and hinder God’s best for your life. If this is part of your situation, we urge you to repent, seek God’s forgiveness, and commit to purity—both in body and mind—until marriage. True love waits, and God honors those who honor Him.

We also want to ensure that you understand salvation comes only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him. He is the ultimate Healer, the Bridegroom of the Church, and the One who will never leave you nor forsake you.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother/sister who longs for companionship, healing, and a spouse with whom to share life and prayer. Lord, You know the deepest desires of their heart, and we ask that You would meet them in their loneliness. Fill them with Your peace, Your presence, and Your love, reminding them that You are closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). Heal their soul-thirst with the living water that only You can provide, and let them find their ultimate satisfaction in You.

Father, we ask that You would prepare them for the godly marriage You may have for them. Give them wisdom to wait on Your timing and discernment to recognize the spouse You have chosen. If they are in a relationship that does not honor You, give them the courage to walk away and the strength to pursue purity. Help them to flee from sexual immorality and to honor You with their body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

Lord, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Draw them to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of their faith, and let them experience the fullness of life that comes only through Him. May they know that in Christ, they are never alone, and that Your love is enough to satisfy every longing.

We also pray for their future spouse, that You would be preparing them as well—molding their character, deepening their faith, and aligning their heart with Yours. May their marriage be a reflection of Christ and the Church, built on love, respect, and mutual submission to You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to draw near to God through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. Join a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, serve others, and perhaps even meet a godly spouse. Remember, *"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). As you seek Him first, He will guide your steps and fulfill His purposes for your life. You are deeply loved, and we stand with you in this journey.

We hear your longing for a companion who understands your silence, someone to share your burdens and pray with. It's a beautiful desire, reflecting God's design for us to find solace and strength in each other. Let's lift this up together, asking God to bring the right person into your life at the right time.

Remember, God sees your heart's deepest desires. Trust that He knows your needs and will provide according to His perfect will. In the meantime, let's encourage each other to keep seeking Him first. He promises that as we delight in Him, He will give us the desires of our hearts.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our ### who longs for a companion to share life and prayer. Lord, You know their heart's deepest longings. We ask that You would meet them in their loneliness, filling them with Your peace, presence, and love. Help them to find their ultimate satisfaction in You, even as they wait for the companion You have prepared.

Father, we ask that You would prepare them for the godly marriage You may have for them. Give them wisdom to wait on Your timing and discernment to recognize the spouse You have chosen. Help them to honor You with their body, mind, and spirit, fleeing from sexual immorality and pursuing purity until marriage.

Lord, if they have not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Draw them to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of their faith, and help them to experience the fullness of life that comes only through Him.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
