Beloved of All
Thank You for Your Blessings Your Patience and Great Love "And Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” Mark 9:23-24 "But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh." Galatians 5:16 Father Thank You You understand us perfectly- Please grant that we walk in Spirit & lay hold of the level of belief we have to have -Thank You for Your Word, Promises, and Hope each moment, day, of our life in Jesus Love Amen

We join with you in thanking our Father for His blessings, His patience and His great love toward us, and we rejoice with you in the scriptures you have shared.

We love how honestly the father in Mark 9:23-24 cried out to Jesus, and how graciously Jesus received him. Jesus said to him, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, I believe. Help my unbelief! Mark 9:23-24. What comfort this is for us, for we too often find ourselves in that same place, having faith and yet feeling our faith is small or wavering. We are reminded that faith itself is a gift from God and that He is patient with us as we grow, as it is written, Faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. Heb 11:1. And we know that the Spirit Himself helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. Rom 8:26.

You also shared a precious desire to walk by the Spirit, and we echo that prayer with you. As you quoted, But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you wont fulfill the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16. To walk by the Spirit is to daily surrender our thoughts, desires and decisions to Him, to abide in His Word and to be led by Him rather than by our flesh. When we do, He strengthens our belief and helps our unbelief, and He produces His fruit in us. We are thankful that our Father understands us perfectly, as you said, for He knows our frame and remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:14, and His love endures forever.

We pray together now.

Father, we thank You for Your Word, Your promises and the hope You give us each moment of each day. Thank You for Your great love and patience toward us, for not casting us away when our faith falters. Lord Jesus, we believe, help our unbelief. Increase our faith and teach us to lay hold of the belief You desire for us to have. Grant us grace to walk by the Spirit and not carry out the desires of the flesh. Fill us with Your Spirit, lead us in truth, and make us sensitive to Your voice. Help us to trust that all things are possible for those who believe in You, according to Your perfect will. We rest in Your understanding and Your love, and we thank You for hearing our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have access to You and salvation. Amen.

We were encouraged reading your thanksgiving. Thanking Him for His patience and great love even while asking for more faith and for help to walk by the Spirit is such an honest and beautiful place to be. That tension you named, believing and still needing help with unbelief, is familiar to many of us.

What has helped us is remembering that growing in faith and learning to walk by the Spirit is not an overnight change. It is gradual, often almost unnoticed day to day, with ups and downs over a lifetime. It is more like training than just trying harder, and we depend on the Holy Spirit to make real growth happen as we stay close to the Lord through His Word, through prayer, and through worship with other believers.

One simple way to keep laying hold of what you prayed for is to keep that same honest cry on your lips each day, asking Him to help your unbelief, and let it lead you into a few minutes in the Word and prayer, not as a task to earn anything but as staying near the One who understands you perfectly.

Father, we thank You with our friend for Your patience, Your great love and Your promises that give hope each day. Help us all to walk by Your Spirit and to grow in trust, step by step. We rest in Your understanding and kindness in Jesus name, Amen.

Grant us steadfastness in faith, IJNA

There is much to rejoice over in the prayer you have breathed before the Lord, for you have laid your finger upon the very hinge of the Christian life. You quote the words of the distressed father, I do believe, help my unbelief, and you join with it the apostolic precept, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. These two scriptures belong together, and your soul has rightly joined them.

All things are possible to him who believes, said our Lord, and immediately that poor father confessed both his faith and his unbelief in one breath. This is an admirable prayer for many of us, and our Lord tenderly commended even little faith, for between the very lowest degree of faith and a state of unbelief there is a great gulf. Though his faith was weak, he was not saved by the strength of his faith, he was saved by the strength of that gracious hand which was stretched out to catch him. The Holy Spirit is the Creator not of the littleness of our faith, but of our faith, be it ever so little. And where that faith is found, though it be as a grain of mustard seed, it is evidence that you have been born again and renewed in heart by the Holy Spirit.

Remember, we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. It is not because of any other influence but the influence of the Spirit that we come to rest and continue to rest for the righteousness which is by faith in Jesus Christ. The flesh relies upon works, but faith is that grace which is implanted by the Holy Spirit and sent on purpose to sustain us under trial. The just shall live by faith, not by feeling, not by happy frames, but by a simple reliance upon Christ. And that faith always produces love and is operative in our daily life, so that to walk by the Spirit is to live by faith day by day, in common duties as well as in great trials.

You ask the Lord to grant that you may walk in the Spirit and lay hold of that measure of belief which you need. This is a prayer which God delights to answer. He has been pleased to make faith to be the mode of the spiritual life, and His Holy Spirit comes on purpose to work faith in the soul and to nourish it by the Word. He rewards faith even in this life, and He has put His blessing upon the man that makes the Lord his trust. Love forbids unbelief and so helps faith, for love says, How can we grieve Him by doubts.

May the Lord hear your cry and increase your faith. May He cause you to look steadily upon Jesus, for while the eyes of faith rest upon Him, His heart is moved with compassion toward His children. And may you prove in your daily walk that when you live by faith in the Son of God, the desires of the flesh lose their power, and Christ is formed in you the hope of glory.

We join our prayer with yours, that the God of all patience and great love would work in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure, that you may walk by the Spirit in holiness and rejoice in His promises and hope each moment of each day, till faith shall be lost in sight. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, Amen.
