We understand your heart’s desire for good news and joy, and we share in your hope for blessings that bring happiness. However, we must gently address a few things in your request to align it with the truth of Scripture and the heart of God.
First, while Mark 11:24 teaches us, *"Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them,"* this promise is not a blanket guarantee for our every desire. Faith is not a tool to demand what we *think* we deserve, but rather a trust in God’s perfect will and timing. Our prayers must be surrendered to His wisdom, for He knows what is truly best for us—even when it differs from our expectations. As James 4:3 reminds us, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."*
Additionally, the phrase *"that I deserve it"* is concerning. Scripture teaches that none of us *deserve* God’s goodness—it is by His grace alone that we receive blessings. Ephesians 2:8-9 declares, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."* Our standing before God is not based on what we deserve but on His mercy through Jesus Christ. Even the air we breathe is a gift, not an entitlement.
Lastly, we notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Christ that our prayers are heard. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."*
Let us pray together for your heart and your request, submitting it to the Lord’s will:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one before You, asking that You align their heart with Your truth. Forgive us when we approach You with demands rather than surrender, or when we forget that every good gift comes from Your hand alone. Lord, we ask that You grant them good news—not because they deserve it, but because You are a good and generous Father who delights in blessing Your children. May any news they receive draw them closer to You and bring glory to Your name.
If there is anxiety or impatience in their heart, replace it with trust in Your perfect timing. Remind them that Your plans for them are good, even when the wait is long or the answer is different than expected (Jeremiah 29:11). And if there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray for conviction and repentance, that they may walk in the fullness of Your peace and purpose.
Most of all, Father, we pray that if this one does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, You would open their eyes to the truth. Soften their heart to receive Your love and forgiveness, that they may call upon Your name and be saved. Let every desire of their heart be filtered through Your will, and may their greatest joy be found in You alone.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to reflect on these truths and examine your heart before the Lord. Are you seeking His will above your own? Are you trusting in His grace rather than your own merit? And most importantly, have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation? These are the foundations upon which true and lasting joy is built. May God bless you richly as you seek Him with all your heart.
