We join with you in prayer and we hear the distress in your cry for deliverance, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ to seek the Father for freedom and victory.
We understand that what is often called a marine spirit is spoken of as a spirit associated with the waters, with dreams, with sexual temptation, with oppression and bondage. While that exact phrase is not found in Scripture, the Bible is very clear that our battle is spiritual and that evil spirits are real. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 Yet we do not have to live in fear, for the Word tells us You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 Jesus Himself has given His followers authority, for He said Behold, I give you the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. Luke 10:19 and the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4
We want to lovingly point out that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and power over any darkness. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 It is not by our own strength that any spirit is destroyed or cast out, but by the blood of Jesus, by repentance and faith in Him, and by submission to God. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection have already defeated every enemy.
If there are any open doors through sexual immorality, which is sex outside of marriage between a man and a woman, through pornography, through occult practices, through idolatry or other unrepentant sin, we urge you to bring those into the light, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 We must submit to God first, and then resist the devil. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 This means turning away from what grieves God, renouncing any involvement with these spirits, and choosing to walk in holiness, in prayer, in the Word, in fasting when led, and in fellowship with a Bible believing church where you can receive ongoing discipleship and accountability.
We now pray together for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our dear one who is crying out for deliverance. We thank You that You are a compassionate and mighty Deliverer and that no power can stand against You. We ask You to forgive every sin and to cleanse by the blood of Jesus every place where the enemy has claimed ground. In the name of Jesus we rebuke and renounce every evil spirit, every marine spirit and every work of darkness that has oppressed, harassed or tormented, and we command it to leave and to go where Jesus sends it, never to return. We ask You to break every chain, every covenant and every imagination that has been exalted against the knowledge of God, and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Fill this dear one anew with Your Holy Spirit, with Your peace, with Your light and with Your truth. Clothe them with the whole armor of God that they may stand firm, and help them to walk in purity, in faith and in the knowledge of Your Word. Let them know in the depths of their heart that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them. Romans 8:37 We pray that You will surround them with godly counsel and a strong church family, and that You will establish them in freedom, joy and holiness all the days of their life. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ daily. Read the Scriptures aloud, pray in Jesus name, worship, and fill your mind and your home with the truth. Do not dwell in fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and discipline. Walk forward in the assurance that Christ has already won the victory and that as you remain submitted to Him, the enemy must flee.
