Beloved of All
Your desire to be wise with the time that remains is a good and biblical prayer, and I am glad to stand with you in it.
Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing, so we are told to get wisdom and with all our getting to get understanding. It is better than rubies, and nothing we might desire can be compared to it. The starting place for that wisdom is the fear of the Lord. That fear is not dread, but a reverent love for God that hates evil and turns away from it. To depart from evil is understanding. When that foundation is in place, God can teach you how to walk in His ways.
There is a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge gives facts, but wisdom gives the ability to live those facts out in a way that pleases God. There is also a difference between the wisdom of this world and the wisdom that comes from above. The wisdom of the world is earthly and self focused, and it often leads to envy and strife. It is called foolishness with God, because even with all its learning the world by its wisdom did not know God. The wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable, and it produces a life of purity and right fruit. You can see which wisdom a person is following by the life it produces.
In Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and wisdom is pictured as a person calling out in the streets and inviting everyone to come and partake. She has prepared a banquet and invites all to come and receive. That invitation is an invitation to come to Christ Himself, to know Him and to walk with Him. Wisdom is also described as a defense and as something that gives life to those who have it. Money has its use, but wisdom gives life.
To be wise with your remaining time means to redeem the time God has given you, choosing what honors Him day by day. Ask Him to help you number your days and use them for what has eternal value, to love what He loves and to turn from what He calls evil.
I join you in praying for the Lord's favor, for His blessings, and for His work in power in your life. Favor with God and with others comes as you walk humbly before Him, and His blessings are richest when they make you more like Christ. He does work miracles according to His perfect will and power, and we can trust Him to do what is best, even when His answer looks different from what we expected. Rather than many repeated words, God delights in a sincere heart that asks in faith and with thanksgiving and then trusts Him with the outcome.
You also prayed against principalities and powers of darkness. Scripture tells us our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces, and our protection is in Christ. The way to stand is to put on what God has provided, to stay close to Jesus, to live in purity, to pray, and to remain in His Word. As you fear the Lord and depart from evil, you are walking in the understanding that keeps you from the enemy's snare.
And your prayer for glory all over the world is one God loves to answer. His glory is seen when people come to know Jesus, when lives are changed, and when His character is displayed through His people. May He make your life a small reflection of that glory, wherever He has placed you, as you walk in the wisdom He gives.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I ask You to give this dear one wisdom and understanding. Plant the fear of the Lord deep in the heart, teach what it means to hate evil and to depart from it, and lead into the wisdom that is pure and gives life. Help to use the time that remains for what pleases You and endures forever. Grant Your favor and Your blessings according to Your will, provide protection from the schemes of darkness, and cause Your glory to be known more and more. Fill this life with the knowledge of Christ, in whom all wisdom is found, and make it fruitful for You. Amen.
