Make a Fair Living

Dear Lord Jesus, Please let me get into my voice business. Let us find funding and support helping it grow and then be able to employ other people. Dynamic gets other jobs to support it. I don’t really wanna be a zookeeper for so much longer, but if I can get a job at a Zoo I used to work for just for about a year or so and maybe work another so I used to work for for a few more months to learn more of living that could really help. I’m tired of working in the sun, especially since I have overload in my senses can’t take it much more and I’ve been humiliated and abused and had enough. I really wanna move in life with need to have for me though. I need to get moving so please help me get there. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in prayer in Jesus' name and we hear the weariness and the longing in your heart for a fair living and for meaningful work that uses the gifts God has given you.

We thank God that you have brought this desire to Him, for He cares about the work of our hands and the burdens we carry. Your desire to build a voice business, to steward it well, to find funding and support, and even to one day employ others is a good and honorable desire when it is done for the Lord. We are reminded that whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23, and to commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. God has given each of us talents and He delights when we use them diligently and faithfully, and He also promises that my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.

We also hear how tired you are from working in the sun, from sensory overload, and from being humiliated and abused. The Lord sees what you have endured and He is near to you. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He knows our frame and that we are dust Psalm 103:14, and He says do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes I will help you Isaiah 41:10. We pray He will give you rest and relief for your body and senses, and that He will protect you from further harm and lift the weight of past humiliation from your heart.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up our brother before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You establish the work of his hands and let Your favor be upon him Psalm 90:17. Guide him as he seeks to grow this voice business, grant him wisdom, favor, and honest funding and supporters who will help it grow in a way that honors You. Provide for him a fair living through diligent work, and if it is Your will, open the doors for the work at the zoo he once knew or other work that will teach him and sustain him for this season. Give him clear direction about when to stay and when to move, and help him to walk through each open door with patience and integrity. Heal his body from exhaustion and sensory overload, comfort his heart where he has been wounded, and redeem the pain of being humiliated and abused. Let him cast his burden on Yahweh, and you will sustain him Psalm 55:22, and lead him step by step into the future You have prepared for him. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue committing each step to the Lord in prayer, to seek wise counsel about the practical side of starting and funding a business, and to be faithful in the work you have now even while you prepare for what is next. The Lord often uses a season of hard labor to train us and to provide for us while He prepares the next season. Keep seeking Him, keep developing the gifts He has given your voice with excellence and honesty, and trust His timing to provide not just a job but a calling where you can provide for yourself and be a blessing to others.

Working in the sun day after day when your senses are already overloaded is exhausting, and to carry humiliation and mistreatment on top of that makes it even heavier. It makes sense you are longing for a fair, sustainable way to provide and to use your voice in a meaningful way.

We love your heart not just to make a living but to build something that could eventually employ others, and your willingness to consider steady work for a season to learn and provide while you work toward that. That kind of faithfulness matters to God.

As you seek direction, it can help to get clearer on your own gifts, interests, values and skills and how your voice work fits with them, and to talk it through with a couple of wise, trusted people who know you and know that field. They can help you sketch a simple, realistic plan for funding, training and support, and a timeline for transitioning out of outdoor work so the move is steady rather than rushed. If the sun exposure and sensory overload continue to wear on you, please consider checking in with a medical professional alongside prayer, so you have care for your health as you make decisions.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the fatigue, the past hurts, and the desire to do good work and provide well. Give wisdom for each decision about work and funding, open doors that are right and close what is not, and provide rest and dignity along the way. Lead step by step and meet every real need. Your prayer has been heard and we have brought your burden before the Lord with tender sympathy. You desire to make a fair living by honest labour, to see your voice business established, to find funding and support, and in time to employ others, and this desire for useful industry is comely and right.

We are moved by your weariness. To labour long in the sun when your senses are overloaded, to endure humiliation and hard usage, is a heavy trial. The Lord sees how you have been afflicted and He is not unmindful of your tears. Remember that our Saviour Himself knew what it was to be mocked and despised, and He is able to succour those who are wearied and oppressed.

You speak of your calling in this world, and we would lift your eyes to that higher calling of which Scripture speaks. Who hath saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works but according to His own purpose and grace. The heavenly calling is a calling from heaven and a calling to heaven. It lifts the heart from mere earthly gain and sets it upon heavenly things. The question for examination is not only what trade shall feed the body, but whether the heart has heard the effectual call of the Holy Spirit, as Zaccheus heard when Christ looked upon him and said, make haste and come down. If you have a desire to come to Christ, it is because Christ is calling you, and that gracious call is the wellhead of every other blessing.

So also Abram was called and he went forth to go into the land of Canaan, and to the land of Canaan he came. He did not stop short of the place to which God directed him, and the Lord who called him also kept him till his journey was complete. So may it be with you. If the Lord has put this work into your hands, seek His guidance step by step, and persevere in faith.

We would counsel you thus. Make your business to be your Father's business. If you make your own business God's business, you will do your business well. Let the voice business be done as unto the Lord, with honesty, diligence and service to others, and not merely for gain. Whether you remain for a season as a keeper in the zoo, or find provision through other honest employment while you learn and prepare, do all as serving the Lord Christ. It is sweet employment to serve your Father, and you need not turn aside from the way of daily labour to do it. Even Paul could suffer the loss of all things and count them but loss for Christ, that he might win Christ. Seek first the kingdom, and trust the Lord to add what is needful.

Therefore we pray for you. O Lord our Father, look upon this Thy servant who is weary and sore tried. Thou knowest the heat and the burden, the overload of the senses, the sting of humiliation and abuse. Give calm to the troubled spirit and strength to the fainting frame. In Thy good providence open a door for honest provision, whether by the present labour or by the work of the voice which has been desired. Grant favour with those who may give funding and support, and grant wisdom to steward it faithfully. If it be Thy will, bring this business to such establishment that others also may be employed and helped. Keep this soul from haste and from despair, and cause the high and heavenly calling in Christ Jesus to be the chief joy and stay, that pressing toward the mark, the heart may be lifted above the trials of the day. Lead onward as Thou didst lead Abram, and bring to the appointed end what Thou hast begun in grace. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
