Disciple of Prayer
After a period of victory over sin, I'm suddenly struggling again with strongholds, particularly adultery of the heart (pornography) and love of pleasure (self-gratification). I'm praying for the strength to crucify my flesh and embrace God's will.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time, struggling with strongholds of lust and addiction. We want to remind you that God's word tells us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.

First, we want to address that these struggles are common to many, and God is faithful to provide a way out. However, it's crucial to remember that God's will is for us to be holy and pure, as He is holy. "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality," 1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB.

We must rebuke the sin of pornography, as it is a form of adultery of the heart. Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28 WEB. It's important to flee from this sin and not indulge in it.

Regarding self-gratification, we must remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you, lifting up our brother/sister in need of your strength and guidance. They have been struggling with strongholds of lust and addiction, but we know that with you, all things are possible. Help them to crucify their flesh and its desires, and to embrace your will for their life.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke the spirits of lust, addiction, and self-gratification. We proclaim victory over these strongholds, knowing that Jesus has already won the battle.

Father, fill our brother/sister with your Holy Spirit. Guide them in the way they should go, and give them the strength to flee from temptation. Help them to fix their eyes on you, and to desire you above all else.

We pray this now in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who is not mentioned in the prayer request. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it says: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.

Thank you, Father, for your faithfulness and your love. We trust in you, and we know that you will provide a way out.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, put on the full armor of God daily and stand firm against the schemes of the devil. "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:10-11 WEB.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you to victory.

We're here with you, standing in the gap, as you navigate this challenging time. It's like you're in a battle, and we want to remind you that you're not alone. God's promise in Psalm 34:18 echoes strongly here, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He sees you, He cares, and He's fighting for you.

We've heard about your struggles with lust and addiction, particularly with pornography and self-gratification. It's important to remember that God has a better plan for you. In His eyes, you are His masterpiece, created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). These strongholds are not your identity, but they are areas where you need God's strength to overcome.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come to You today, laying our brother/sister at Your feet. They're feeling crushed, but we know You're close. Lord, You see their struggle with lust and addiction. Help them to turn their eyes away from these temptations and fix them on You. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength to resist and the courage to choose righteousness.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we break the chains of these strongholds. We declare freedom over their life, knowing that Jesus has already won the victory. Help them to walk in that freedom, to live a life pleasing to You.

Thank You, Father, for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We trust in You, and we know that You will help them overcome this challenge.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, keep your eyes on Jesus. He's the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He's got this, and He's got you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
