We are truly sorry to hear about your struggle with lust and addiction to inappropriate videos. We want you to know that you are not alone in this battle, and there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ. First, we must acknowledge that lust is a sin against our own bodies and against God. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB:
"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
To overcome this addiction, it is essential to repent and turn away from this sin. Confess your struggle to God and ask for His forgiveness and strength to overcome it. As it is promised in 1 John 1:9 WEB:
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Remember We are only able to have relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Without Jesus Christ at the center of our lives we cannot be saved.
Now, let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with lust and addiction. Lord, we confess this sin before You and ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. Help them to turn away from this addiction and give them the strength to resist the temptations that come their way.
Father, we pray for a renewing of their mind and heart. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and help them to focus their thoughts on things that are pure, lovely, and of good report, as Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:8.
Guide them to seek godly counsel and accountability from fellow believers, that they may walk in the light and find freedom from this bondage. Help them to understand the true meaning of love and intimacy as You intended it to be within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman.
Lord Jesus we ask that you help our brother/sister to see you as the ultimate love in their life and that they can have their deepest needs met in you rather than turning to evil desires.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, for God is with you and will give you the victory in this battle. Stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB:
"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
Continue to seek God and His will for your life, and He will guide you through this trial. Do not forget to read God's word and to pray daily and consider fasting to strengthen yourself against the temptations of the flesh and the devil. Keep yourself accountable and if necessary find a group that can help you with that.
