Your request has been heard and we join you in prayer before the throne of grace today as you go to the physician.
We understand the fear that rises when such a discovery is made, and we would lay before you that precious word which is repeated so often in Scripture for trembling hearts, Fear not. The Lord Himself says, Fear not, for I am with you, and again, Fear not, I will help you. Fear is weakening and it dishonors the God who piled the heavens and sustains all things, and therefore we labor to put it away by trusting in promised strength. You need not frame a fine and orderly petition, for God will hear the prayer of one who is at his wits end, the staggering prayer that reels to and fro, and He will in no wise cast out any soul that comes to Christ, even if at first it comes only through fear.
We pray that you will know the healing virtue that is in Christ. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His blood covers sin and brings pardon, and healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. So we plead with the Most High and spread your case before Him, asking Him to remember His Word unto His servant, for to ask Him to remember is to ask Him to fulfill His promise. We ask the Lord to give skill and wisdom to the doctors you will see today, to grant you clear answers, and if it be His will, to grant that this shall be nothing serious, and in all things to do that which will most show His mercy and bring you nearer to Himself.
We also lift before the Lord the other person you have named, and we pray for blessed health for you both as individuals before God. We do not ask God to bless any way that is contrary to His holy Word, for true blessing is found only in walking in His way, but we do pray that His blood would cover you both, that you would both know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, who is the only conduit of healing and life, and that you would be kept in His way and quickened there day by day.
May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon you with healing in His wings. Cast your care upon Him now, just where you are, and let your heart go up to God. We will continue in intercessory prayer for you, for such prayer is the sweetest that God ever hears and it is exceedingly prevalent, and we trust the answer will come in the way and time which His wisdom appoints.
Our prayer for you is this, O Lord, remember Your Word unto Your servant, be very pitiful and have compassion in this time of need, forgive sin and heal according to Your mercy, and let this trial draw the heart to trust wholly in Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
