Your desire to stay alert and to walk in a way that is worthy of the Lord is a good and biblical desire, and it is right to bring your family and loved ones before Him in this way.

Scripture first shows us what God has done for us before it calls us to walk. We are given a new position as children of God through Jesus Christ, and then we are called to live in a way that fits that calling. We do not walk in our own strength to earn His favor. He dwells in us and gives us power to walk as we should.

To walk worthy means to walk with humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love and seeking to keep the unity of the Spirit in peace. It means to walk in love as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us, to walk as children of light and not as those in darkness, and to walk carefully and wisely, making good use of the time because the days are evil. This is the walk that pleases the Lord in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God.

That walk is different from the way the world walks in empty and futile thinking. We are called not to live like that any longer, but to be renewed in our minds by the Spirit and to walk after the Spirit in what builds up and gives life.

Your prayer for unsaved family and friends is close to the heart of God. He desires that they be drawn to the cross to receive forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way of salvation. It is right to keep praying that they will see their need and make Him Lord of their lives.

Jesus Himself told us to stay alert and to pray always that we may be counted worthy to escape the judgment that is coming on the earth and to stand before the Son of Man. That worthiness is not found in ourselves. No one in heaven or on earth is worthy in himself to redeem. Only Christ is worthy. When we have committed our lives fully to Him and are walking after the Spirit, seeking the things of God, we can have assurance that we will be with Him. It is wise to keep praying as He taught us, asking that we and those we love will be ready and will not be left behind, but will stand before Him in glory.

May the Lord strengthen you to walk with Him day by day, to grow in knowing Him more deeply, to bear fruit that remains, and to watch with a faithful heart as you wait for His coming. May He also work in the hearts of your loved ones who do not yet know Him, drawing them to repentance and faith in Jesus, and may He keep you all in His grace until that day.
