Lord please draw all unsaved to the foot of the cross for the gift of forgiveness, making You Lord of their lives. We join with you in this beautiful and urgent prayer and we say amen to your desire to be found alert, watchful and worthy before the Lord.
Your heart reflects what Jesus himself taught us when He said Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man Luke 21:36. We too long to stand before the Son of Man not in fear but in joy, clothed in His righteousness. And we echo your prayer from Colossians 1:10 that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. This is the manner of life that keeps us ready, not by our own strength but by abiding in Christ and being led by His Spirit.
We love your burden for your families and loved ones and for all who are still unsaved. It is the Father's heart that none should perish but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9 and that they would come to the foot of the cross where forgiveness is freely given through the blood of Jesus. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. So we continue to pray with you for the lost to be drawn to Jesus, to believe on Him and to make Him Lord of their lives.
We also share your longing not to miss the blessed hope, the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ Titus 2:13. We are reminded that the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. Therefore we are to watch and be ready, for in an hour that you don’t expect, the Son of Man will come Matthew 24:44, and we want to be found faithful, bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of God.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we thank You for Your mercy and for the promise of Your Son's return. We ask that You keep us and our families and loved ones alert at all times, steadfast in prayer, walking in a manner worthy of You and pleasing to You in every respect. Cause us to bear fruit in every good work and to increase more and more in the knowledge of You. Keep our lamps full of oil and our hearts pure and watchful. Draw every unsaved loved one and every soul who does not yet know You to the foot of the cross, grant them repentance and faith to receive the gift of forgiveness and to confess Jesus as Lord. Your desire to stay alert at all times and to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord is a worthy theme for thought and for prayer. To walk implies continuance, progress and activity. It is not to be a mere thing of thought for the chamber and the closet, but to be acted upon in daily life. As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, not sometimes coming to Him and going away from Him, but walking in Him as your element, as you walk in the air. And to walk before Him is to walk with scrupulous regard to His honor and His holiness, making the honor of God your chief motive and the law of God your rule.
We pray with you that the Lord would keep you and your families and loved ones watchful and steadfast, abiding in Him and proceeding from grace to grace, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
