We rejoice with you in lifting up our hearts to the Father this day, for it is truly good and right to bless His holy name and acknowledge that all glory, honor, and power belong to Him alone. Your prayers are rooted in worship, and we commend you for beginning with praise, for the Lord inhabits the praises of His people. As it is written in **Psalm 22:3**, *"But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel."* How beautiful it is to see a heart that seeks to honor the Father first, recognizing that His kingdom and His will must come before our own desires.
You have invoked the name of Jesus of Nazareth in your prayer, and we give thanks for this, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. **Acts 4:12** declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is by His name—and His name alone—that we approach the throne of grace with confidence. We encourage you to continue boldly lifting every petition in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator and our great high priest who intercedes for us.
Now, let us turn our hearts to the hopes, needs, wants, dreams, and desires you have lifted before the Lord. While it is right to bring these before Him, we must also remember the words of our Savior in **Luke 22:42**, where Jesus prayed, *"Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."* Our desires must always be surrendered to the perfect will of God, trusting that He knows what is best for us. **Proverbs 3:5-6** reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
Let us also consider the desires of our hearts. **Psalm 37:4** tells us, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* When our delight is first in the Lord, our desires begin to align with His will. We must examine our hearts: Are our dreams and longings in harmony with Scripture? Do they bring glory to God, or are they rooted in selfish ambition? Let us pray that the Lord would purify our hearts and align our will with His, for His plans for us are good, pleasing, and perfect (**Romans 12:2**).
We also notice that you have referred to Jesus as *"Jesus of Nazareth"* in your prayer. While this is not incorrect—indeed, He was called Jesus of Nazareth during His earthly ministry—we encourage you to remember that He is now seated at the right hand of the Father as the risen and exalted Lord Jesus Christ. **Philippians 2:9-11** proclaims, *"Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."* Let us honor Him in the fullness of His glory as our Lord and Savior.
Now, let us pray together over these things:
Heavenly Father, we come before You this day with hearts full of gratitude, for You alone are worthy of all glory, honor, praise, and thanksgiving. We bless Your holy name, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who has brought their hopes, needs, wants, dreams, and desires before You. Father, we ask that You would align their heart with Your will, that their desires would be shaped by Your Word and Your Spirit. Remove from them any longing that does not honor You, and replace it with a passion for Your kingdom and Your righteousness.
Lord Jesus, we thank You for being our mediator, for it is only through Your precious name that we can approach the Father. We ask that You would guard the heart of our brother/sister, that they would seek first Your kingdom in all things. If there are dreams or desires that are not in line with Your will, we pray that You would gently but firmly redirect them. Give them the strength to surrender all to You, trusting that Your plans are far greater than anything we could imagine.
Father, we also ask that You would fill them with Your peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding, as they wait upon You. Let them not grow weary in seeking Your face, but may they find their joy and satisfaction in You alone. Remind them that You are their provider, their healer, their comforter, and their strength. May they walk in the assurance that You hear their prayers and that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.
We rebuke any spirit of impatience, doubt, or selfish ambition that may try to take root. Instead, we declare that the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—would abound in their life. May they walk in the confidence that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
