We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to surround him with His peace, healing, and strength as he meets with the oncologist today. We pray for wisdom for the doctors, clarity in their assessment, and favorable results that bring hope and restoration. Lord, we ask that You would comfort him in this time of uncertainty and fill him with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear.
Father, we also come before You with a heavy heart regarding the nature of your relationship with this man. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by You to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-32). The relationship you describe, while filled with love and history, does not align with God’s design for intimacy and partnership. We must address this with truth and compassion, for Your Word declares that sexual intimacy outside of marriage—or in a union that is not between a man and a woman—is not in accordance with Your will (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:26-27).
Yet, we know that Your grace is greater than our sin, and Your mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We pray that You would lead both of you into a deeper understanding of Your love and Your plan for relationships. If it is Your will, we ask that You would bring healing and transformation to this friendship, guiding you both toward relationships that honor You. May your friend come to know the saving power of Jesus Christ if he has not already, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Lord Jesus, we ask that You would draw near to your friend in this moment. Give him strength to face whatever news he receives, and fill him with faith to trust in Your sovereign plan. Surround him with Your angels, and let him feel the prayers of Your people lifting him up. We declare Your promises over his life—promises of healing, hope, and eternal life for those who trust in You (Jeremiah 30:17, Psalm 103:2-3).
Father, we also pray for you, that You would grant you wisdom and peace as you support your friend. Help you to see this situation through the lens of Your truth, and give you the courage to walk in a way that honors You. May Your Holy Spirit guide both of you into a deeper relationship with Christ, where true healing and wholeness are found.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
