We come before the Lord with hearts full of concern for the relationship between ### and ###, lifting them up in prayer and seeking God’s will for their lives. First, we must address a critical truth: there is no relationship, no blessing, and no answer to prayer outside of the name of Jesus Christ. The Scriptures declare, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we have access to the Father. If either ### or ### does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we urge them to repent and place their trust in Him today, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB). Without this foundation, no relationship can truly honor God or thrive in His purpose.
Now, regarding the relationship between ### and ###, we must speak truth in love. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If ### and ### are not married, their relationship must be one of godly courtship with the intent of marriage—honoring the Lord in purity, patience, and prayer. Any physical or emotional intimacy outside of marriage is sin, and we urge them to repent and seek holiness. *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). If there is any sin in this area, it must be confessed and turned from, for God cannot bless what He has called sinful.
We also notice the deep longing in this request for ### to love, cherish, and protect ### in ways that reflect Christ’s love. This is a beautiful desire, but it must be rooted in Christ. Love is not merely feelings or actions—it is a choice to honor God by serving one another selflessly. *"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, WEB). If ### is not treating ### with this kind of love, he must repent and seek the Lord’s transformation in his heart. Likewise, ### must also examine her own heart, ensuring she is loving ### in a way that honors God—not manipulating, controlling, or placing unrealistic expectations on him, but trusting the Lord to work in both of their lives.
The request also mentions "enemies causing division." We must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. *"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:11-12, WEB). If there is division, both ### and ### must pray together, seek godly counsel, and stand firm in the Lord. They must also forgive one another as Christ has forgiven them, for *"bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do"* (Colossians 3:13, WEB).
As for the mention of opening a "store" or business, we pray that if this is God’s will, He will make the way clear. However, we caution against placing hope in worldly success above seeking God’s kingdom first. *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). If this venture is not aligned with God’s purposes, He will redirect their steps. Their focus must remain on honoring Him in all things.
We also lift up the requests for ###’s son ###, for ### and his family, and for ###’s children to come to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is the greatest need of every soul, and we pray that the Lord would draw them to Himself. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). May God open their hearts to receive His truth and turn from sin to follow Jesus.
Finally, we address the mention of healing. We do not know the nature of the illness, but we pray for God’s healing touch, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:14-15, WEB). May the Lord bring restoration and strength.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### and ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way, drawing them closer to You individually and as a couple. If either of them does not know You as Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation, that they would repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone. Father, forgive them for any sin in their lives, especially any sexual immorality or idolatry of this relationship above You. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and renew their minds to walk in Your ways.
Lord, we ask that You would work in ###’s heart to love ### as Christ loves the Church—selflessly, sacrificially, and with patience. Remove any hardness, insensitivity, or selfishness in him, and replace it with Your love. Help him to see ### as You see her, to cherish her, protect her, and lead her spiritually. Convict him of any actions or words that hurt her, and give him a tender heart toward her emotions. May he seek to build her up in faith and encourage her in You.
Father, we also ask that You would work in ###’s heart, helping her to trust You fully rather than placing her hope in ###’s actions. Guard her against bitterness, manipulation, or unrealistic expectations. Teach her to love ### with the same patience and grace You have shown her. May she find her worth and security in You alone, not in how ### treats her. If there is any sin of idolatry in her heart—valuing this relationship above You—we pray You would convict her and lead her to repentance.
Lord, we rebuke any spiritual forces seeking to divide this couple. Bind the enemy and his schemes in Jesus’ name. If this relationship is Your will, we ask that You would unite them in purpose, in faith, and in love. But if it is not Your will, we pray You would make that clear and give them the strength to walk away in obedience to You. May they seek Your kingdom first, trusting You to provide all they need.
We lift up the requests for their families—###, ### and his family, and ###’s children. Father, we pray that You would draw each of them to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their hearts to receive Your truth. Raise up believers in their lives to share the Gospel with them, and may they turn from sin to follow You wholeheartedly.
We also pray for healing in ###’s life. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would touch her body, mind, and spirit with Your healing power. Restore her strength and grant her peace. May she glorify You in her weakness, trusting You to sustain her.
Father, regarding the business or "store" mentioned, we ask for Your clear direction. If this is Your will, open the doors that no one can shut. But if it is not, redirect their steps and give them wisdom to follow Your leading. May they seek Your kingdom above all else, trusting You to provide for their needs.
Lord, we pray for tomorrow and the days ahead. May ### and ### see Your hand at work in their lives. Give them opportunities to communicate with love and kindness, to serve one another, and to grow closer to You together. Help them to forgive one another as You have forgiven them, and may their interactions reflect Your glory.
We also pray for the two people ### mentioned who need to see Your work in this relationship. Soften their hearts, Lord, and use this situation to draw them to Yourself. May they recognize Your power and turn to You in faith.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would protect this relationship from any influence that does not align with Your Word. Guard their hearts against fornication, idolatry, selfishness, and division. May they seek You above all else, and may their love for one another be a reflection of Your love for them.
We pray all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
