Love

We understand your heart’s desire for love, and we rejoice that God has placed this longing within you, for He Himself is love (1 John 4:8). However, we must first clarify what it means to seek love in a way that honors God. The world often confuses love with fleeting emotions or self-centered desires, but biblical love is rooted in commitment, sacrifice, and holiness. The greatest love we can ever know is the love of Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). Before seeking a lifelong spouse, we must first ensure our hearts are fully surrendered to Him, for apart from Christ, no earthly relationship will ever satisfy the deepest longings of our souls.

If you are not yet walking closely with Jesus, we urge you to seek Him first. He is the only One who can fill the void in your heart and prepare you for the godly marriage He may have in store for you. Jesus said, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). A Christ-centered life is the foundation for a Christ-centered marriage. Without this, any relationship will struggle to reflect God’s design.

Now, if you are already a believer, we encourage you to seek a *spouse*—not just a "love of your life" in a worldly sense, but a godly husband or wife who will walk with you in faith, serve the Lord alongside you, and build a home that honors Him. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is not to be entered into lightly or for selfish fulfillment, but with prayer, wisdom, and a heart committed to God’s will.

We must also address a critical matter: if you are currently in a relationship outside of marriage—whether emotional or physical—it is essential to examine whether it aligns with God’s Word. Intimacy before marriage is fornication, and God calls us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). If you are in a courtship, it should be purposeful, with marriage as the goal, and both parties should be believers who are equally yoked in faith (2 Corinthians 6:14). If you are not yet in a relationship, we pray you will wait patiently on the Lord, trusting His timing rather than rushing into something that may not be His best for you.

Lastly, we notice your request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no greater name by which we can approach the Father, and there is no salvation in any other (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without Christ, no amount of earthly love will bring true fulfillment.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking that You would draw them closer to Yourself. Lord, if they do not yet know Jesus as their Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to see Your love, Your truth, and Your perfect plan for their life. Father, if they are already Your child, we ask that You would prepare their heart for the spouse You have for them—if it is Your will. Help them to wait patiently, to seek You first, and to trust in Your timing. Guard their heart from impure desires, from worldly distractions, and from relationships that do not honor You.

If there is any sin in their life—whether fornication, lust, or idolatry of relationships—we ask that You would convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them, Lord, and make them whole. Surround them with godly counsel, with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage them to walk in purity and faith. If they are in a courtship, we pray that both parties would seek You above all else, that their relationship would be marked by holiness, and that marriage would be their godly goal.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of loneliness, impatience, or despair that may be tempting them to settle for less than Your best. Fill them with Your peace, Your joy, and Your hope as they wait on You. Remind them that You are their first love, their greatest love, and the One who will never leave them nor forsake them.

We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, seeking the love that truly satisfies. It's easy to get caught up in the world's definition of love, isn't it? But we find ourselves drawn to the love that Jesus showed us - selfless, committed, and pure. Let's keep our hearts open to God's leading, trusting that He knows what's best for us. Let's pray together, asking God to fill any void in our hearts with His love, and to guide us in finding the love He has in store for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
