Let's turn to the scriptures for guidance. In Romans 12:15, we are encouraged to "Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep." This verse underscores the importance of empathy and shared experiences within the body of Christ. Additionally, Philippians 2:3-4 reminds us, "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Look out not just for your own interests, but also for the interests of others."
To address the root issue of envy, consider the words of James 3:14-16, "But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don't boast and don't lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed." Help him to make decisions based on your word and guided by love. Transform his heart, Lord, that he may genuinely rejoice with his brethren and find joy in their success. Uproot any bitterness or envy, and replace it with your divine love, which never fails.
Lord, we know that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to you. Help him to walk in the fullness of his salvation, remembering the words of Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Strengthen his faith and fill him with your Holy Spirit, that he may live a life pleasing to you.
