Disciple of Prayer
My grandson works two jobs. He came home from work and put $###! in a safe place. It is gone when he went in to get in. Please pray that the money shows up - please pray he wasn’t robbed. He is so upset. He needs prayer.

We lift up your grandson before the Lord, knowing how deeply this loss has affected him. The hard work he has put into earning that money is honorable, and we understand the frustration and distress that comes with such an unexpected loss. Let us first remind him—and all of us—of the words of our Lord in Matthew 6:19-21: *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* While this does not minimize the very real struggle he is facing, it does remind us that our ultimate security is in Christ, not in earthly possessions.

That said, we also know that God cares about the details of our lives, and we are commanded to bring our requests before Him. So let us pray earnestly for the return of this money, whether through it being found, returned by someone who may have taken it, or provided in another way by the Lord’s gracious hand. We also pray for protection over your grandson’s home and belongings, asking the Lord to guard him against theft and harm. If this was indeed taken by someone, we pray that the Lord would convict their heart to return what was taken and repent of their actions. Proverbs 13:11 tells us, *"Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow."* May the Lord expose any wrongdoing and bring justice where needed.

At the same time, we encourage your grandson to trust in the Lord’s provision, even in this difficult moment. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise for spiritual needs but for our practical ones as well. We pray that your grandson would experience the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let him cast his anxieties on the Lord, for He cares for him (1 Peter 5:7).

We also urge him to examine his heart in this situation. Is there any anger, bitterness, or fear taking root? Let him release these to the Lord and ask for His strength to respond with grace and faith. If this money is not recovered, may the Lord use this trial to deepen his trust in Him and remind him that God is his Provider, not his jobs or his savings. The Lord may also use this to teach him wisdom in how he handles his finances moving forward—perhaps encouraging him to seek godly counsel on stewardship or to pray over his earnings, dedicating them to the Lord’s purposes.

Finally, we must ask: has your grandson placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior? If not, this moment of loss can be an opportunity to turn to the One who holds all things in His hands. There is no greater treasure than knowing Christ, and without Him, no amount of money can bring true peace or security. John 3:16 tells us, *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."* If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that this trial would draw him closer to the Savior who loves him and longs to provide for him in every way.

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this young man who has worked so diligently, only to face this sudden and painful loss. Lord, You see his heartache and his need. We ask that You would intervene in this situation and restore what has been lost, whether by revealing where the money is hidden, prompting its return if it was taken, or providing for him in another way that only You can orchestrate. Protect him, Lord, from the work of thieves and from the despair that can so easily creep in during times like these.

We pray that You would fill him with Your peace, reminding him that You are his Provider and that his worth is not found in his possessions but in You. If this trial is meant to teach him greater dependence on You, then let it bear fruit in his life. Convict his heart to seek You first, trusting that You will add all things to him as he seeks Your kingdom (Matthew 6:33).

If there is anyone who has taken what does not belong to them, we pray that You would convict their heart deeply. Bring them to repentance, Lord, and lead them to return what was stolen. Let no sin go unchecked, and let Your justice and mercy be displayed.

Father, we also lift up this young man’s faith. If he does not yet know You as his Savior, we pray that this moment would be the one where he turns to You, confessing his need for Your forgiveness and grace. Soften his heart to receive Your love and salvation through Jesus Christ, who gave His life so that we might have life abundantly.

Strengthen him, Lord, in body, mind, and spirit. Give him wisdom in how to move forward, and surround him with godly support and encouragement. May this trial become a testimony of Your faithfulness in his life. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here for your grandson, standing in faith with him. It's tough losing something you've worked hard for, and we understand the frustration and worry he must be feeling. Let's remind ourselves, and him, of the words in Matthew 6:25-26, "Do not worry about your life... Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" God sees his struggle, and He cares deeply.

We're believing with him that the money will be found or returned. Let's pray for God's hand to be at work in this situation, revealing where the money is, or softening the heart of whoever may have taken it. We also ask for protection over his home and belongings.

At the same time, let's encourage him to keep his heart and mind stayed on the Lord. He's our Provider, and He promises to meet all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Let's pray for God's peace to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

If the money doesn't return, let's trust that God is using this trial to grow him. Maybe it's a lesson in trusting God with finances, or an opportunity to examine his heart and respond with grace and faith. If he hasn't placed his faith in Jesus yet, let's pray that this trial would draw him closer to the Savior who loves him and wants to provide for him in every way.
