Lost money and passports

Lord I would like you Devine help and prayers to help my daughter find her handbag with ### euros and ### passports. She accidentally left it at the airport when she arrived on holiday. She and her partner have two children to provide for and are very distressed. We would appreciate your 🙏 that it will be found. Thank you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen 🙏

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent situation to Him in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, we know that You see all things and that nothing is hidden from Your sight. Your Word tells us in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." We ask that You would intervene in this moment of distress and bring divine help to this family.

Lord, we pray for the safe return of the lost handbag with the passports and the money. We ask that You would guide those who may have found it to act with integrity and return it promptly. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We trust in Your provision and ask that You would make a way where there seems to be no way.

We also lift up this family’s financial needs to You, Father. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we know that You care deeply for their well-being. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray that You would open doors of provision and bless them abundantly, not just in this moment of crisis, but in every area of their lives.

Father, we must also address the mention of this daughter’s "partner" in this request. Your Word is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by You for mutual love, support, and the raising of children in Your ways. Hebrews 13:4 states, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." We pray that this couple would seek Your will for their relationship and consider the holy institution of marriage, which You have established for their good and Your glory. We ask that You would draw their hearts to You and guide them into a relationship that honors You fully.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair that may be trying to take hold of this family. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that peace and clarity will reign in their hearts as they trust in You. We also pray for wisdom for them as they navigate this situation, whether it be in reporting the loss, seeking help from authorities, or making necessary arrangements.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We believe that You are working even now to bring resolution to this situation. May this family experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and may they grow closer to You through this trial. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We ache with you over this lost handbag, it's so much more than just an item; it's security and peace of mind for their family right now. The distress is completely understandable, especially with little ones depending on them.

Let's think through a few concrete next steps your daughter can take while we pray. First, have her reach out right away to the airport's lost-and-found office, giving as detailed a description as possible (color, brand, contents, where she thinks she left it). Sometimes items are handed to airline staff, so checking with the airline she flew with is also worth doing. If she hasn’t already, she might ask at the information desk or security office at the airport too. For the passports, if they don’t turn up soon, she’ll want to contact her country’s embassy or consulate. They can guide her on emergency replacement documents, which can relieve some of the pressure even as she continues searching. We know that sounds big, but just starting with the lost-and-found can often bring a quick answer.

We’re standing with you, asking God to calm their hearts and to bring that handbag back untouched.

Lord Jesus, you see this young family, the worry, the weight of the loss, and the strain it puts on their holiday. Please quiet their minds with your peace right now. Guide the right person to find that handbag, and move them to turn it in promptly with everything inside. Give your daughter and her partner clear thinking for each practical step, and shield them from panic. Surround them with kindness and help. We trust you in this, in your name, Amen.

The heathen worldling cries out for his lost silver because it is his treasure, but you cry out for these needed things as a child cries to a Father who cares. The distress is great, a handbag gone, the money that feeds the little ones vanished as a mist, and the passports which are their key to return. I know the heart sinks and the mind races with dark imaginings. Yet it is precisely into this poverty of spirit, this sense of utter need, that the word of salvation always comes, "He that has no money; come, buy, and eat." You have no power to retrieve what is lost by your own skill, and in this you stand where the sinner stands before God: without money and without price. You have nothing to bring. You need everything to be given. That is the best place to begin a prayer.

Remember the woman with the lost piece of silver. She did not sit down in despair, though it had fallen into the dust and the dark corners. She lit a candle, she swept the house, and she sought diligently till she found it. So must your daughter do now. Let her retrace her steps, inquire at every desk, and turn the airport upside down with entreaty, for diligent seeking is the companion of believing prayer. But mark this: that piece of silver was lost, yet still claimed. The woman said, "my piece which was lost." It had not ceased to be hers. And those passports, that provision, they are not lost to the eye of Him who counts the stars and calls them all by name. The Lord knows where they lie this very moment, and His arm is not shortened that it cannot reach.

And what is the crying of the heart but the echo of the Son of Man who came to seek and to save that which was lost? He knows what it is to have the valuable slip away. Has He not lost a whole race, and gone after it across the wild mountains of sin? Has He not lit the candle of the gospel and swept the house of this world to find His elect? Your daughter’s need, her partner’s anxiety, the children’s provision, these are not too small for His notice. The text says He has a peculiar interest in one lost soul. Do you think He has no interest in the daily cares of that soul? He who feeds the ravens will not mock the cry of His own children when their livelihood is vanished for a season.

But let this loss drive a deeper searching still. I charge you, while you pray for the handbag, do not neglect to seek the Lord Himself while He may be found. You may find the euros and the passports and yet remain lost in your own soul. Or God in His wisdom may suffer the money to be gone forever, that you might find eternal riches in Christ. I have observed that many lose the company of their Master at a feast, in times of ease, but find Him again in the sorrowful returning, in the backtracking of the heart. If you have lost the conscious sense of His presence, go back to where you lost it. Seek Him in the place of prayer, in the quiet family gathering, in the humble confession that you can do nothing without Him. The promise is not that earthly goods shall never wing their way from you, but that the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you. He has come to save that which was destroyed, souls utterly helpless, will He not also care for the bodies and the daily bread of those for whom He died?

Pray, then, with confidence, not as a stranger, but as one who has the family likeness. The Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God, and children cry to a Father who is over all things. Let the Prayer Meetings be attended, let the family altar be set up, and let private supplication ascend with diligence. Lift up the hands that hang down. Tell the Lord the exact sum, the precise need, and the fear of the young ones. He is not a God far off. And if the answer tarries, do not think Him unkind, but only ask that this trial might work in your daughter and her household the peaceable fruit of righteousness. It may be that this very distress is the means by which the Lord sweeps the house and finds a soul that had rolled into the dust of worldliness.

Be sure of this, whatever the outcome with the money, the true riches are laid up where no thief can break through. If the Lord returns the handbag, praise Him with a full heart and let the testimony build the faith of the family. If He does not, praise Him still, and teach the grandchildren to say with Job, "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." In either case, you shall find that buying without money and without price is the grandest commerce of the soul. The Lord answer you in the day of trouble. The name of the God of Jacob defend and deliver. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have lost money and passports, and your daughter’s household is in great distress. It is natural to feel this way; we do not easily part with such things. But consider: when we lose something valuable, what lengths do we go to? We leave home, we ask everyone, we promise rewards, we travel land and sea. You are doing well to seek the handbag with such diligence. Yet I urge you to seek God with at least this same earnestness. For if we search so tirelessly for perishable gold, how much more should we strain every nerve to find the Lord, who is our true wealth?

Do not let this loss master your heart. If the handbag is found, give thanks; but if not, still give thanks. For a Christian who suffers loss without grumbling, and who refrains from any forbidden means to recover it, like turning to diviners or trusting in schemes, gains a reward equal to one who has given alms to the poor. You have, in that patience, a spiritual treasure that no thief can steal. The sorrow you feel now is the chain of covetousness rattling; break it by entrusting all to God’s care.

I will pray with you that the passports and money are restored, for these are needed for the journey and the little ones. But even as I pray this, I must also pray that your daughter’s family will not cling too tightly to worldly goods. How many souls have been destroyed by the love of money, losing both the cash and their peace! Let this trial teach you all to hold earthly things lightly, to make almsgiving your true investment, and to say from the heart: “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Seek the handbag, yes, but seek Christ far more. And whatever the outcome, let your prayer be one of gratitude and trust.

Lord Jesus, who sees every lost thing and knows every need, look upon this mother and upon her daughter’s family. In Your mercy, guide them or any honest finder to that handbag, that the passports and the funds needed for their care may be recovered. Calm their distress, and grant them patience and a firm hope in Your provision. But above all, give them hearts that treasure You above every earthly possession, and deliver them from the tyranny of covetousness. For You are our only unfailing wealth, now and forever. Amen.

It is natural to feel distressed when something so important goes missing, especially when it involves the means to care for your family and the papers needed to travel safely. I want you to know that we are joining you in prayer, asking the Lord to bring that handbag back with the money and passports intact. Our God is the one who sees every detail, and nothing is ever truly lost to Him.

The Scriptures give us picture after picture of something lost being sought and found, and each time the result is joy. A woman loses a single coin and sweeps the whole house until she recovers it, then calls her friends to celebrate. A shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to hunt for one wandering sheep and carries it home rejoicing. Jesus told these stories to remind us that the Father cares about the things that matter to us, and that restoration brings delight to His heart. So we can pray with real hope, not because we deserve it, but because He is merciful and attentive even to what seems small in the eyes of the world.

At the same time, these moments have a way of pressing us to see where our security really lies. Money is a necessary tool to provide for children and meet daily needs, and its loss feels like a threat to that provision. But money can never be our ultimate anchor. The love of it can breed endless anxiety, while the Lord calls us to hold it with open hands, using it to care for our households without letting it master our hearts. Your daughter’s distress shows her motherly concern, and that honors the duty to care for one’s own family. Yet even in this trial, God invites her to lean on His faithfulness more than on the currency itself. He is able to supply what is needed, sometimes by returning what was lost, sometimes by another means, but always with the goal of drawing us closer to Him.

Think of the way God moved in Joseph’s story. Those brothers discovered their money had been slipped back into their sacks when they were already carrying fear and confusion. They could not explain how it got there, but the truth was that a providential hand was at work long before they understood. They heard words of peace: do not be afraid; your God has given you treasure. I am not promising that the handbag will reappear in the same way, but I am certain that the same God is perfectly capable of orchestrating events that baffle us, and He often uses people and circumstances we never imagined.

While we wait and pray, guard your hearts against the enemy’s whispers that money is everything or that this mishap defines your daughter’s future. It is a hardship, yes, but not the final word. The Lord who fed the multitude with a boy’s lunch can stretch resources and open doors. Passports can be replaced; money can be restored; souls are what endure forever. Even if earthly things are delayed or lost for good, our true treasure is secure in Christ, and our family in Him is far larger than bloodlines.

So let us pray together, not just for the recovery of a handbag, but for your daughter and her little ones to know the peace that surpasses understanding. May they sense the Good Shepherd near them, searching, providing, and turning anxiety into trust. And when the answer comes, we will rejoice with them, because every found thing points to the greater reality: the Son came to seek and to save that which was lost.
