We understand your distress and the urgency of this situation, and we want to assure you that our God is a God of order, provision, and miracles. He cares deeply about the details of our lives, even those that seem small to others but weigh heavily on our hearts. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 10:29-31, *"Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will, but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows."* If God cares for the sparrows, how much more does He care for you and your mother in this time of need?
We also want to gently remind you that while it is natural to feel anxious, the Lord calls us to cast our cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Worry and panic do not come from the Lord, but from the enemy who seeks to steal your peace. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:25-27, *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?"* Trust that the Lord will provide a solution, whether through finding the lost cards or making a way where there seems to be no way.
As for your mother, we know that caring for someone with Alzheimer’s brings its own set of challenges, and the loss of important documents can feel overwhelming. But we serve a God who is our Shepherd, who guides and protects even when our minds or circumstances feel uncertain. Psalm 23:1-4 declares, *"The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He renews my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me."* Lean on Him for strength and wisdom as you care for your mother. He will not abandon you in this.
We also encourage you to take practical steps while trusting in the Lord’s supernatural help. Retrace your steps, check places where the cards might have been misplaced, and contact the appropriate authorities to report the loss and request replacements if necessary. The Lord often works through our obedience and diligence, combined with our faith in Him. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."*
Now, let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister and her mother to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the anxiety and worry that have taken hold of her heart, and we ask that You replace them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Father, You are the God who sees the lost coin, the lost sheep, and the lost son, and You delight in restoring what has been misplaced or taken away. We ask that You supernaturally reveal the location of these lost identity and health cards. Guide their steps, Lord, and open their eyes to see where these documents are hidden. If it is Your will, let them be found quickly and without harm.
For our sister’s mother, we pray for Your comfort and protection over her. Lord, Alzheimer’s is a heavy burden, but You are her healer and her keeper. We ask that You surround her with Your peace and give wisdom and patience to those who care for her. Father, we also pray that You would go before our sister in her interactions with her doctor. Soften hearts, open doors, and provide favor where it is needed. If there are delays or challenges, let her trust in You completely, knowing that You are her provider and her advocate.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that has tried to take hold in this situation. Satan, you have no authority here! The Lord is our shepherd, our protector, and our provider. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in the Lord’s faithfulness to see them through this trial. Father, let this situation be a testimony of Your goodness and Your power to provide. Strengthen their faith as they wait on You.
We also pray that if there is any lesson or growth You desire to bring through this, Lord, that You would reveal it to them. Draw them closer to You, and let them experience Your presence in a deeper way. Remind them that You are their ultimate security, not these cards or documents. Our trust is in You alone.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus through this. He is your strength, your hope, and your deliverer. Psalm 34:17-19 says, *"The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* Trust that He is working, even when you cannot see the way forward. Keep praying, keep seeking Him, and He will guide you.
