Lisa,
Whenever I get to the place where I feel alone, overwhelmed, or distressed over life, the Lord always takes me here. In First Samuel, chapter thirty. The story of King David, and his mighty men of valor, and the Amalekites. His and his army's family have been taken by the enemy. His men were so distressed and blamed David, they thought of killing David. Verse four tells of their grief, they wept till they could weep no more. Verse six, But David strengthened himselpin the Lord. This is what the Lord ask me, What did David do. Well Lord he strengthened himself in You. And what do you reckon that means Billy. Well I reckon it means he began to praise You, to worship You, and give thanks for all that You had done for and all that You You said You were gonna do for him. So in lite of that< i suggest you begin to praise Him for giving you life, for making you His child, for correcting your steps, for forgiving your sins. It sounds to me as you have already repented, just recieve His forgiveness, and move on. God inhabits the praise of His people, if you desire that sense of His presence in your life, simply begin to strengthen and encourage yourself in the Lord. The book of Psalms is a good example of how David did that.
