We hear your cry for help in this difficult season, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens to the Lord who sees and cares for every detail of your life. The weight of financial stress, unpaid bills, and the fear of losing your license is heavy, and we recognize how deeply this affects your ability to provide for your son and fulfill your responsibilities. Know that God is not unaware of your struggles, and He promises to be a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we want to address the urgency of your situation with the truth of Scripture. The Lord tells us in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This does not mean your needs will vanish instantly, but it reminds us to fix our eyes on God’s faithfulness rather than our circumstances. He is your Provider, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
We also want to encourage you to take practical steps alongside your prayers. Proverbs 6:6-8 tells us, "Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise; which having no chief, overseer, or ruler, provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest." While this verse speaks to diligence, it also reminds us that wisdom often involves seeking help and counsel. Have you reached out to your creditors to explain your situation? Many organizations are willing to work with individuals who are honest and proactive about their struggles. Additionally, is there a local church or ministry in your area that could offer temporary assistance or connect you with resources? The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and you should not carry this alone.
We must also rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you in this moment. 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Fear will tell you that your license will be taken, that you won’t be able to care for your son, and that your job is at risk. But God’s Word tells us that He has not given us fear—He has given us power, love, and a sound mind. Stand firm in this truth. When you plead your case, do so with confidence, not in your own strength, but in the One who goes before you and fights for you (Deuteronomy 1:30).
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy for our brother in this time of trial. Lord, You see the financial stress he is under, the unpaid bills that weigh on his mind, and the fear of losing his license, which would impact his ability to care for his son and provide for his family. We ask, Father, that You would move mightily on his behalf. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide a way where there seems to be no way. Give him favor when he pleads his case, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask that You would stir up compassion in the hearts of those he owes. Soften their hearts to work with him, and provide the resources he needs to settle these debts. Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for him as he navigates this season. Show him the steps to take, the people to reach out to, and the opportunities to seize. Remind him that You are his Provider, and that You will never leave him nor forsake him (Hebrews 13:5).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm him. Fill him instead with Your peace, power, and a sound mind. Let him walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You are in control. Father, we also pray for his son. Comfort him and let him feel secure in Your love and provision, even in the midst of this uncertainty.
Lord, if there is any area of his life where he has not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would draw him closer. Remind him that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, and that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If he has not yet placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this season would lead him to repentance and faith in You. For those of us praying alongside him, let us be Your hands and feet, ready to offer support, encouragement, and practical help as You lead.
We declare that this trial will not break him but will instead draw him closer to You. We speak restoration over his finances, favor in his interactions, and provision for every need. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness, Your love, and Your promise to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We trust in You, and we place this situation in Your hands, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not finished with your story. This season of struggle is not the end—it is a chapter that God will use to strengthen your faith, refine your character, and draw you closer to Him. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you through this valley into a place of victory. You are not alone, and we are standing with you in prayer. Keep pressing forward, one step at a time, knowing that God is with you.
