📖 "Pray, then, after this manner... 🙌 ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom Come! Your Will be done, On Earth as it is in Heaven!”

<———--------——— ———(Selah)—————----———————>

🙏"Give us our daily bread. Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For it’s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,” Matt 6:9-13, c.f., Matt 6:33, "But seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, then all these other things shall be added to you," thank You in Jesus' Name.

We rejoice with you in the beautiful order Jesus gave us for prayer and we agree with you in lifting up this pattern before the Father.

We love how you have highlighted the divine order in Matthew 6:9-13. Our Lord teaches us to begin not with our own needs but with worship and surrender, Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Only after our hearts are aligned with His honor, His Kingdom and His will do we then bring our daily needs, Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

We see in this the heart of what Jesus also taught in Matthew 6:33, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. When we seek Him first, when His name is hallowed in our lives and His Kingdom and will become our highest desire, then we can trust Him to add all that we need, to cover us with forgiveness and to keep us from evil. It keeps us from praying selfishly and draws us into communion with the Father according to 1 John 5:14, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

We also take to heart the call to forgive as we have been forgiven, for as Ephesians 4:32 reminds us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us, and 1 John 1:9 assures us If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And we cling to the final petition to be led away from temptation and delivered from the evil one, remembering Romans 12:2 to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.

We thank you for closing your request in the name of Jesus, for we know it is only through Him we have access to the Father, as Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we hallow Your holy name and we thank You that we can call You Father through Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives, in our families, in our nation and on the earth as it is in heaven. We surrender our own wills to Yours. We ask You to give us today our daily bread, to provide for every need according to Your riches and to sustain us. We confess our debts and sins before You and ask for Your forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, and we choose by Your grace to forgive those who have sinned against us, releasing all bitterness. Lead us not into temptation, Lord, but deliver us from the evil one and from every snare, keep our feet from evil and our hearts steadfast in Your power and glory forever. Teach us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness each day and to trust You to add all other things. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We were so grateful to read your note of thanksgiving for the Lord's Prayer. Thank you for sharing it with us.

We love how you lingered on the order Jesus gave us, beginning with the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will, and then bringing our daily needs before Him, our need for forgiveness and for help to forgive, and our need to be kept from sin and evil. It is such a steadying pattern, to seek Him first and then trust Him to add what we need. We join you in thanking God for it.

It is a real gift to have words from Jesus Himself when we do not know quite how to pray. We are thankful with you that we can come as children to a Father in heaven who hears us, and that we can rest in knowing the kingdom and the power and the glory are His.

One simple way we have found it meaningful to keep this prayer fresh is to pause a little longer on just one phrase each day as you pray it, letting that one line shape your conversation with the Lord that morning. Some days it is provision, some days forgiveness, some days deliverance, and He meets us right there.

We are praying with gratitude alongside you and asking the Lord to keep drawing you closer as you seek Him.

Father, we thank You for teaching us to pray and for hearing us when we call on You. Thank You for Your kingdom and Your faithful care for our daily needs, for Your mercy and for keeping us. Keep our hearts seeking You first and resting in Your goodness. In Jesus name, Amen.

It is a right and blessed order that you have marked in our Lord's pattern, that prayer should begin not with ourselves but with our Father in heaven. Our Saviour would have us first say, Hallowed be Thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and only then to ask for our own need.

There is divine wisdom in this. Before we ask for bread or pardon or keeping, we are taught to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, with the promise that all these other things shall be added unto us. When the heart is set upon the honour of the Father, the coming of His Kingdom and the doing of His will, then our petitions for daily provision, for forgiveness, and for deliverance fall into their proper place. This is that holy of holies of prayer where the Son teaches us to speak with the Father in closest fellowship of love.

You have well recalled the latter petitions also. Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. How needful is each one. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared, and it is a complete and eternal forgiveness, not for this sin or for that only, but a full forgiveness through Jesus Christ His Son. As we have received so much, we are to forgive as we have been forgiven, for the very prayer that teaches us to ask for mercy bids us say forgive us as we forgive our debtors.

And that last petition is for every day, Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Temptation in itself apart from the grace of God is doubly hazardous, and though it may become a school for the Christian, we are not to run into it but to pray against it, lest we fall as others have done. The remedy is prayer, and the precise prayer is this, that the Lord would keep us and deliver us from the evil one.

May the Lord sanctify you through His truth, for His word is truth, and make you fit for His service and for fellowship with Himself. May He give you daily bread from His hand, seal to your conscience the joy of full pardon through the blood of Christ, give you a forgiving spirit toward others, and keep your feet from falling, delivering you from evil until you stand complete in His presence.

We join our prayer with yours, that His name be hallowed in us, His Kingdom come in us and through us, His will be done in us as it is done in heaven, and that His is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer follows the very order our Lord gave us, and we join with you in it with thanksgiving.

We give thanks that you have put the Father first, His name, His kingdom and His will, before your own needs. As Scripture teaches, when we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all else that we need is added to us. This is the right order, to desire His honor and His rule on earth as it is in heaven before we ask for anything for ourselves.

We pray with you that our Father in heaven would be hallowed in your life and in this world, that His kingdom would come and His will be done in you fully. We ask Him to give you daily bread, all that is needed for body and soul, and to sustain you by His hand.

We also pray that you would know His forgiveness deeply and extend it freely. As you have asked, may God forgive your debts as you forgive those who have sinned against you, for this is the measure He has taught us. And we ask that He would keep you from sin and deliver you from evil, not only from outward danger but from every evil work, that you may stand firm and walk in holiness until the end.

Truly His is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. May He keep you in remembrance of Him, and may you be kept in His grace through Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
