We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for your willingness to seek the Lord and draw near to Him. It is beautiful to see your desire to grow closer to God and to foster a deeper connection with your children in Christ. Let us first affirm that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow (James 1:17). We give thanks for the love and unity you are seeking, for it is in Him that we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28).
Father God, we lift up this family to You, asking that You would draw them closer to one another and, most importantly, closer to You. Lord, Your Word tells us that where two or three are gathered in Your name, You are there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). We pray that You would bind this family together with cords of love that cannot be broken, that they may experience the fullness of Your presence in their lives. Help them to seek You first in all things, for You promise that when we seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33).
We also pray for deliverance from evil, Lord. Your Word warns us that the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). But we stand firm in the truth that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to divide this family, to sow discord, or to draw any of them away from You. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Protect their hearts, minds, and spirits from the lies and deceptions of the evil one, and fill them with Your truth, peace, and joy.
Lord, we ask that You would cultivate in them a spirit of humility, forgiveness, and grace. Teach them to bear with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3). May they be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:19-20). Help them to encourage one another daily, so that none of them may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness (Hebrews 3:13).
We also want to gently remind you, dear one, of the importance of ensuring that your household is built on the foundation of Christ. If there are areas in your life or the lives of your children where sin has taken root, we encourage you to confess it and turn away from it. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, pride, or any other sin, lay it at the foot of the cross and walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for you.
Father, we pray that this family would be a light in a dark world, reflecting Your love and glory to those around them. May their home be a sanctuary of peace, where Your presence is felt and Your Word is honored. Equip them with everything good for doing Your will, and may You work in them what is pleasing to You, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever (Hebrews 13:21).
We declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Him and by His blood that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray. Amen.
