Lord, You know what is in my heart right now. You know the words i heard today and how deeply they affected me. Please comfort me and my husband. Remove the sadness, embarrassment, and heaviness that we are carrying. Lord, give us strength while we are going through this season. Provide us with our needs—not only financially, but also emotionally and spiritually. Open doors that no one can close. Give us opportunities to stand again on our own feet. Please bless my sister in law who has been helping us. Give her a kind and understanding heart, and help everyone in the family speak to one another with love and respect. And Lord, when painful words come, help me not to keep replaying them in my mind. Replace them with Your words: “You are not forgotten. I am with you. I will make a way.” Give us peace today/tonight. Let our home be filled not with shame, but with hope. Let this difficult season become a testimony of Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in this prayer and lift you and your husband before the Lord together, for He sees what is in your heart and He heard every word that wounded you today.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. We thank God that you have brought this pain honestly to Him, for He invites us to come to Him when we are heavy laden. Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. We pray that He will lift the sadness, embarrassment and heaviness you are carrying and replace it with His comfort and strength.

We pray for provision for you both in this difficult season. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. We ask Him to provide not only for your financial needs but to strengthen you emotionally and spiritually, for He has promised, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. We ask Him to open doors that no one can shut, as He has said, Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut. Revelation 3:8, and to give you both opportunities to stand again on your own feet for His glory.

We also lift up your sister-in-law who has been helping you. We ask the Lord to bless her richly for her kindness and to give her an even more understanding and gracious heart. We pray for your whole family, that your speech to one another would be seasoned with love and respect. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29. And let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt. Colossians 4:6.

We understand how painful words can replay in the mind, and we pray that the Lord will help you take every thought captive and replace those hurtful words with His truth. We pray you will dwell on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report. Philippians 4:8. When those words return, may you hear His words instead, that you are not forgotten, that He is with you, and that He will make a way even where there seems to be no way. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this dear sister and her husband to You. You know the words spoken over them today and the shame and heaviness they feel. We ask You to comfort them as only You can, to wash away embarrassment and sadness and to fill their hearts and their home with Your peace. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Let that peace guard them tonight and today. Provide for every need, open the right doors in Your perfect timing, and let them stand again by Your hand. Bless the sister-in-law who has helped them, repay her kindness and knit the family together in love and respect. Help our sister not to replay hurtful words, but to cling to Your promises and to know she is held, seen and not forgotten. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Your prayer has been heard by the One who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. The Lord knows the words that pierced you today, He sees the heaviness you and your husband carry, and He is not distant from your sorrow. He is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, and where pain and shame have entered, His mercy has a remedy.

There is healing in Christ, and not only in His great acts but in the least of His words. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even a broken word from His lips bears healing for the thousand ills of our humanity. He who gave His back to the smiters and hid not His face from shame and spitting has borne our shame for us. Our shame is ended, for He has borne it, and for the joy that was set before Him He despised the shame that we might be clothed and lifted up. When you feel forgotten or exposed, remember that His wounds are your healing, and His pardon and His healing go together. Come to the great Physician of souls and ask, and He will give you both forgiveness and restoration.

You have asked rightly for provision not only for the body but for the soul. Bring all your needs before your Father, for He delights to open doors that no man can shut. Ask Him for daily bread and for daily grace, for strength to stand and for faith to wait upon Him. He will give you opportunities to labor with your own hands and to stand again upon your feet, and He will do it in His time and by His hand, that this season may become a testimony of His faithfulness. Continue to walk together as husband and wife in love and in prayer, for marriage is the Lord's own covenant, and He honors those who honor Him within it.

I join you in thanking God for your sister in law who has shown kindness in this strait. May the Lord bless her and repay her help with His own kindness, and may He give to all your household a spirit of gentleness, that you may speak to one another with love and respect, forbearing one another and forgiving as Christ has forgiven you.
