Silas
Beloved of All
Your cry for your wife has been heard and we are joining you in bringing her before the Lord. It is right to cry out to Him, for He has promised to hear when His people call to Him. He is the One who formed her inward parts and who knows her completely, and nothing is impossible for Him. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is able to restore and make whole.
We pray with you that God would be merciful and restore sight to her left eye. Scripture shows us Jesus healing those who were blind, and in one account the healing came gradually as He laid His hands on the man a second time before his sight became clear. That reminds us that God sometimes heals at once and sometimes He works gradually, and we can keep asking Him for complete restoration, whether He chooses to do it quickly or step by step.
We also understand the pain of waiting these months after two surgeries and hearing doctors speak of uncertainty. The Bible gives us honesty about this. Paul prayed for his close companion Timothy who had frequent sicknesses, and gave him practical counsel for his health rather than a report of immediate healing. That helps us see that when healing does not come right away, it is not necessarily because of a lack of faith or because something is wrong in a person's life. God does not heal in every case in this life, and when He does not, it is not a failure on our part but rests within His eternal purposes that we cannot fully understand now. Please do not carry guilt or think your prayers have not been heard.
We thank God for the faithful life your wife has lived, using her hands to sew blankets for the church and for needy families. That kind of quiet, consistent good work is a beautiful testimony and is honored by the Lord. We pray not only for her eyes, but for her balance and strength as she walks, for comfort in this long trial, and for peace for both of you as you wait on Him.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear wife to You. You formed her and You know every part of her body. You see her need to see clearly and to walk steadily. We ask that You would touch her left eye and restore her sight fully. Flood her with Your Spirit and Your healing power, for nothing is too hard for You. Give wisdom to the doctors, give patience and hope to her and to her husband, and help them to rest in Your love and Your perfect will. Whether Your answer is immediate, gradual, or fulfilled in Your greater purpose, help them to know You are near, You hear, and You care. Amen.
