Beloved of All
We join you in this prayer and lift your cry before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved and delivered.
God hears those who call upon Him for deliverance from evil, and He has shown His power to deliver both from outward danger and from every evil work that would condemn the soul. As Scripture says, the Lord delivered His servant from the mouth of the lion, and He will deliver from every evil work those who trust in Him and strive against sin. This is the greater deliverance, that He would keep us from yielding to sin and bring us without condemnation to His heavenly kingdom.
Remember that evil is not an uncreated power beside God, and it is not a nature that God made. God is the Creator of all things from nothing, and He alone is good and able to make what is broken whole. Evil comes from the choices of men and from the ruler of darkness who rules only over those who give themselves to him, for he has nothing in Christ. Christ came for this very purpose, to deliver us from evil and to supply what is good, to free us from the curse and to bring us into adoption as sons of God. This is received when we put on Christ and receive His Spirit.
So we pray for you now, that the Lord Jesus would deliver you from evil in every form, from temptation, from oppression, from the works of the enemy and from sin itself. May He strengthen your will to choose what is good, guard your heart and mind, and fill you with His Spirit so that you may walk as a child of God. May He grant you repentance where needed, faith to stand firm, and peace in knowing that He who made all things is able to keep you.
Continue to call upon Jesus, to turn from every evil way, to pray and to seek Him in His Word and among His people. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble, but the Lord is faithful to deliver those who are His. We ask the Father to keep you, to cleanse you, to lead you not into temptation but to deliver you from evil, and to establish you in holiness through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
