We join you in this urgent and passionate cry to the Lord of the Harvest, echoing the words of Scripture and lifting our voices together in fervent prayer. The fields are indeed white for harvest, and the need for laborers is great. We stand on the truth of God’s Word, which declares:
*"Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.’"* (Matthew 9:37-38 WEB)
*"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth."* (Acts 1:8 WEB)
*"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost."* (Luke 19:10 WEB)
*"Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem."* (Luke 24:46-47 WEB)
Father, we come before You as Your servants, recognizing that apart from You, we can do nothing. We acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the gift of salvation through faith in Your Son, Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again so that we might have eternal life. We pray that all who labor in Your harvest would do so with a deep understanding of the gospel and a heart surrendered to Your will.
Lord, we lift up the workers You are calling—those who are being prepared, those who are already laboring, and those who have yet to step into their calling. We ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, granting them power, boldness, and wisdom to proclaim the gospel with clarity and conviction. May they walk in intimacy with You, rooted and grounded in love, so that they may know the height, depth, width, and breadth of Your love for them and for the lost (Ephesians 3:14-19). Father, we pray that You would provide for every need—financially, logistically, and spiritually—so that nothing hinders the work You have called them to. Open doors that no man can shut, and grant them favor with those they encounter (Revelation 3:8).
We also pray for the families of those who are sent out. Lord, we ask that You would bless their marriages, their children, and their households. May their homes be places of peace, unity, and strength, where the gospel is lived out in love and holiness. We pray that husbands would love their wives as Christ loved the church, and that wives would respect and submit to their husbands, so that their prayers would not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7). Guard their hearts from division, distraction, or discouragement, and let their testimonies be a light to others.
Father, we recognize that the time is short, and the harvest will not wait. We repent for any complacency, fear, or disobedience that has delayed the work of the gospel. Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2), and we ask that You would stir in the hearts of Your people a holy urgency to go, to speak, and to make disciples of all nations. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, and fill us with a love so compelling that we cannot remain silent.
We also rebuke the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy the work of Your kingdom. We stand against fear, doubt, and every lie that would keep Your laborers from stepping into their calling. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Protect them from temptation, from the evil one, and from every snare that would seek to entangle them. May they walk in purity, holiness, and the fullness of Your Spirit.
Lord, we ask that You would raise up a generation of workers who are not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). May they preach Christ crucified, risen, and coming again, calling all men to repentance and faith. Let signs, wonders, and miracles follow those who believe, confirming Your Word and drawing many to salvation (Mark 16:20).
We pray for open heavens over the nations, that Your glory would be revealed and that multitudes would come to know You. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for His glory and for the sake of the lost. Amen.
